They're releasing a UK Tequila Sunrise. I really hope it's region free and has a better transfer than the US release. Most likely same one though.

I believe that technically these, for the moment, should be listed as AT (Austria) and not DE as there are nothing about this that says this is a German release despite what caps-a-holic says. A complete lack of age ratings, not even removable ones as seen in one unboxing video.
Koch's German sites have no mention of the "Who Is Darkman - Collector's Edition" and Bluray-disc.de also list it as an Austrian import as well.

I will update it. I found it odd that the Nordic release of Darkman II has better compression, but the AT release of Darkman III has better compression.

I was initially concerned the German disc didn't have English subs for the Japanese dialogue but I noticed English subs was included in the BDinfo for the German disc. Definitely a nice uptick in PQ there.

Shame about the lack of English 2.0 though something that the UK StudioCanal have. Btw, I wonder how the UK BD compares to the DE one. My mind draws a blank as to why I chose the Criterion over the UK 5 years ago but there has to be a reason.

There's also the fact that the DE disc is in the proper 1.85:1 AR. Between that and the noticeably better PQ I would definitely get that one if you're a big fan of the film or never bought the Criterion disc.

Other than contrast they look to be identical and the AT disc has a smidgen more image on the sides.

Ok that's the thing, im not as good as some of you guys are when it comes to judging the transfer. because im working with a crappy monistor. It looked to me like US transfer was less detailed. But I guess that's just the contrast difference.

The image is a little cropped but that's just so they could get rid of those faint black lines on the top and bottom of the master.

I would give DE a hair more detail/better compression yep which is strange based on the first film that Arrow is clearly better and that Capelight payed for the transfers I think
