Firstly, I certainly appreciate the compliments.

1. It can mean that either I have not seen a proper comparison or that the verdict is inconclusive. An excellent example of this is Alien vs. Predator. The HU disc has a much higher bitrate, but doesn't look any better than the US disc.
2. It could be either, but it is more likely that the US disc is the best release of a particular title to date. There's also this list for US releases if you have not seen it: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=232493

Received the French Carlotta BD of Velvet Goldmine today and can confirm that it both looks and sounds significantly better than the US BD. It also appears to be (appropriately) cropped some, whereas the US BD seems to be uncropped and revealing more than intended (e.g. objects creeping in on the sides of the frame), and it's slightly windowboxed during the opening credits even with more info in the frame.

If anyone could point me to a guide for pulling stats/good caps (preferably for a Mac), I'd be happy to.

You can use AnyDVD HD and PowerDVD. They are both available for MAC.

As for this list, the Arrow set has also been released in the US, which I believe means it can be removed.

Extended cut was released internationally. PQ looks mostly the same to me but . Japanese disc is on caps-a-holic, but discs are virtually identical in all regions.
