Bought Swedish (SE) Snowpiercer since it's very cheap and the same company as the latest high bitrate NO movies and seems like good news bitrate wise

Looking forward to your thoughts on it. If the English subs are good on the Korean language parts it could be the best edition to own theoretically.

Right now it still seems like the US one is the best overall option available to English speakers.

The bonus disc is not a SteelBook exclusive in Japan. It is a First Press limited disc available in all versions:

Hold fire on including the UK release, it was pre-cut by the distributor to get a BBFC 15. It is currently unknown if the BBFC 15 cut was used worldwide, so I'd suggest waiting for confirmation either way before including it.

Except that the theatrical cut on the U.K. disc looks worse than the director's cut on the U.S. disc.

I've never seen anyone confirm that the UK version actually sounds better though. I've heard it sounds great, but I've also heard the US sounds great. Never seen someone with both make a comparison though. Only assumptions based on specs.

It does. I have the DE steelbook and it has the same lossless audio. It also has a better transfer than the U.S. disc.

And there's a wide difference of opinion as to whether or not there's any actual "in motion" difference between the two director's cut releases - which the protagonists of each point of view continue to bore the hell out of people in both threads, often repeating the same lame, petulant argument's in each. Perhaps, in time, the dust may settle - for now, simply noting that the UK release contains a theatrical release might be sufficient.

But the Criterion release doesn't have the TC. Plus the DC on the Arrow release is technically better than the DC on the Criterion release.

Absolutely agree. I bought the UK release because of comments made in this thread and never regretted it.
