Amazing thread. How is this not stickied?
City of Ember - Imported FR for best codec and PQ, but stylized title of movie is displayed in French, while other credits are in English. Not sure about any other differences (only took a quick look, will watch it tonight), or if you're noting any things like this that might also affect a buyer's decision. |

Shout disc?
![]() ah, must've missed that one ![]() a bit hard to compare since the frames here don't match the ones at capsaholic very well, it too is certainly way better than the earlier American release, a bit hard to judge against the Shout, perhaps the German might still look a trace better, but hard to really be sure at all |

I just watched the UK disc of Orphan (2009) after having seen the US disc multiple times years ago. It has better AV specs but looks pretty bad. It’s bright and noisy(?). The trailer on the same disc looks much better than the film itself.

I would say boosted contrast to hell on UK but that is me. 88 scan isn't as refined and looks like the older arrow looked before they got a better scanner. This is a good example:
https://caps-a-holic.com/c.php?go=1&...142507&i=7&l=1 and this https://caps-a-holic.com/c.php?go=1&...142508&i=8&l=1 But most others are pretty close so it's strange some shots look so radically different. |
