Hotel Artemis UHD Comparison:
German Release [Show spoiler] US Release [Show spoiler] US disc has higher bitrates but the German disc has HDR. Per the dedicated thread the HDR might be "fake" but the German disc has better encoding regardless. A big point of discussion from the thread almost to a toxic point is that one brief on screen title at the opening and another during the credits have both been translated into German. If you pick the English audio and leave the German subtitles off it automatically has player generated English versions of both of these titles that appear beside them. This subtitle track also pops up with English for the brief moments of foreign language dialogue. The only extra from the US release is a commentary track and from what I can tell from the BD Info scans it's only on the BD and not the UHD. I was hoping there might be a firmer answer to this in the dedicated thread but people were too busy freaking out about two brief bits of text being in German on the other release. ![]() |

While checking a bunch of movies on caps-a-holic, I noticed this issue in the swimming pool scene of Almost Famous:
https://caps-a-holic.com/c.php?a=1&x...2&l=0&i=4&go=1 Looks like DNR removed some splash details on the UK release. Almost Famous should probably be removed from this thread unless another region's release is better. |

I think there is some incorrect information regarding the "They Live" entry in the list.
Currently the UK Studio Canal entry is listed like this: UK (Studio Canal) - AVC 29952 kbps, LPCM 2.0 2304 kbps 24-bit / DTS-HD MA 5.1 4277 kbps 24-bit, English subs (Region B locked) Best PQ However, the video bitrate (AVC 29952 kbps) is from this earlier edition: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/They-Live-Blu-ray/9140/ while the audio info (LPCM 2.0 2304 kbps 24-bit / DTS-HD MA 5.1 4277 kbps 24-bit) is from this other Studio Canal edition: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/They-...lu-ray/214719/ So, the current UK They Live entry is a mix of the above mentioned two Studio Canal editions. I think this needs to be corrected. I presume that the Best PQ award goes to this edition?: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/They-...lu-ray/214719/ Last edited by casspir; 09-07-2020 at 05:48 PM. |

When Eight Bells Toll
US - AVC 24930 kbps, DTS-HD MA 2.0 1608 kbps 16-bit, no English subs FR - AVC 25022 kbps, LPCM 2.0 1536 kbps 16-bit, no English subs Source of info: US: https://caps-a-holic.com/c.php?d1=8146&d2=8147&c=3305 FR: BDInfo scan (I own the FR disc) The video bitrate of the French release is marginally higher, I do not know if it is worth to include it in the list, HD Goofnut will decide. |

I made 8 screencaps with PowerDVD in PNG format. I tried to match them as closely as possible to the ones at caps-a-holic. I uploaded them to flickr, here is the link: https://www.flickr.com/short_urls.gn...set=aHsmQDhEKW You can download each cap in its original size (1920 x 1080).
