I made those caps of Highlander. A lot better than SC/LG, but it's also far from perfect. It's on a BD50 disc, but only uses just slightly more data than would fit on a BD25 (disc size: 25,077,527,845 bytes).

Japanese BD from Kadokawa is probably better, but at that price might as well wait for UHD.

-Upcoming UK release of Paris, Texas by Curzon in UK
-Come and See release by Criterion
-LA Confidential has new releases by Fox in multiple regions including US and Japan (same disc)

-Relative to the US/UK releaaes, these Ozu films have had superior releases by Shochiku in Japan: Early Summer, Early Spring, Late Spring, Late Autumn, Equinox Flower, Tokyo Twilight
-Floating Weeds has had a new 4K restoration release in both Japan and France
-The France Ozu Boxset contains nearly his entire filmography with new 4k restos

Not planning on picking up Jackie Brown. It was already known of Trainspotting that there was a 2K remaster that previously wasn't released on home video. I don't believe that's the case with Jackie Brown.

Fair enough. We've also known about a 4k remaster for Dusk, but this obviously isn't it.

These discs should be identical and that includes region locking.

I know Point Break and Troy were both released twice in the US, region A locked first then region free (I own the region free ones). I have no idea if the first releases and the re-releases were the same discs, though.

The version of Mr&Mrs Smith that I linked is a reissue too but, unlike my copies of Troy and Point Break, it shows a region A logo on the slipback. That being said, many blu-rays are actually not region locked even though they claim to be on the packaging. Even the slipcase of my US 4K copy of Predator shows a region A symbol for the blu-ray included in the combo even though it is actually NOT region locked.

Guess I'll have to buy and see for myself... Shows the value of information, or lack thereof.

EDIT: if anyone cares about it, this release is region A locked as well.
