DTS-HD HR is still lossy. You'd have to double-blind test DD @640kbps against any other lossy format to determine "best" AQ.

Pretty much. The only other worthwhile option is the IT disc, which is B/C locked. However, as I said earlier in this thread the PQ is better on the JP disc.

I picked up the 6 pack used from eBay for under $5 last year, and 3rd party sellers on amazon/half.com have this cheap as well (Half.com has a new item listing for $3.95+ shipping). So while you're stuck with the other movies you can still get this relatively cheap.

I just assume (i.e., fear ) that the PQ (already a lowly 2.5 rating) has to take a big hit as those 6 flicks are crammed onto 2 discs.

^I know you don't know me from Adam, but I own the 6 pack just for Equilibrium and I thought it looked and sounded pretty awesome. I watched it on my 50in. plasma. So i'm betting you'll be at the very least, very pleased.

It's an entirely different transfer than what's on the cropped 1.78:1 disc. I'd rate it about a 7/10 and I'd give the JP disc a 9/10.
