US - AVC 33.863 Mbps, 1.85:1, 23,976fps, DTS-HD MA 5.1 24-bit 3886 kbps, English (SDH) subs, full extras, (Region free) Best PQ UK - AVC 25.00 Mbps, 1.85:1, 24fps, Dolby TrueHD 5.1 3741kbps, no subs, less extras, (Region B locked) DE - VC-1 14.00 Mbps, 1.85:1, 23,976fps, DTS-HD 5.1 1590 kbps 16-bit, no English subs, Same extras as US plus commentary with N.W. Refn and critic Alan Jones, (Region B locked) Note: The specs at rewind-dvd-compare are somewhat faulty, wrong fps, also the UK-disc is not 1080i, it's 1080p. As the review mentions, intended varying levels of clarity, grain and heavy noise, transported noticeably best on the US disc. Noise needs much bitrate which the DE release is clearly starving, might be DNR'd too. There's also a French and nordic release, maybe someone can add them. They are def. 1080p AVC and do not feature English subs, FWIW |

I have no idea where to ask this so I thought I’d try here: All my links from the Deals page are going to Amazon again (whether I click on the BD picture or the price). In the past, I was told to set my "Deal link target" to "Link to Blu-ray.com" and it’s still set that way, but suddenly I can't get to the BRDC item page except via the search bar. The way it was set, clicking on the price would take me to Amazon, but clicking on the cover picture/icon would take me to the BRDC item page.
Anybody else seeing this? There’s been no post on the Home page or the news page. I left a message for Deciazulado yesterday - no response. Anyone know if this is a temporary glitch or where to get info? Has the site been bought out by Amazon? ![]() |

Less banding
And don't take my word for it ![]() http://someimage.com/kIRJuQ0 http://someimage.com/YYYif6o It's horrible http://someimage.com/NaH1XEt http://someimage.com/GMTQHEe And you also get no "hardcoded" subs BUT you lose Atmos/7.1.... Last edited by wesslan; 04-21-2015 at 05:29 PM. |

Yeah, I'm gonna want a timecode of the second one as well. The first one is irrelevant as it takes place during a fadeout and requires pausing the disc to even see properly. The second one looks like a fadeout too.
I know that Lionsgate have an issue with banding, but in this case me think thou doth protest too much. |

The only times that the banding was problematic for me, was in the fade outs.
Even though I hate banding too, I prefer to have the original subtitles, and just deal with the mild banding. I don't think any release features minimal banding, plus original subs so far. I wonder how the UK release will look. Being released by WB doesn't fill one with hope though. ![]() |
