I believe that they replaced various titles and text with player generated subtitles, which looked sloppy and bugged me something rotten.

Oh, right.. in Ger. forums etc. meanwhile Fullscreen is used synonym for 1.78 DAR on 16:9, technically not correct of course, I got infected

I refer to fullscreen as being 1.78:1 and widescreen as being 2.35:1 with regards to framing. This isn't the late 90's, as how many 4:3 displays are being made now?

It's useful in terms of describing vintage bonus materials, but instead of "fullscreen" or "widescreen" I prefer to just use the numerical AR (e.g. 1.85:1, 1.33:1, etc.)

Agreed, better off sticking to numbers there instead of terms, still I automatically replace 1.78:1 with *Fullscreen* whenever I read

I've never seen a 4:3 DVD in ol' Europe saying Fullscreen instead of /without saying 4:3 (or 1.33:1) right behind (or before), but I totally believe you it's handled different way in the US. Edison way

Yeah, with regards to SD content, the definition differs, i.e. 'Fullscreen' meaning 4:3.

Just to clarify, my definition previously was in relation to HD content.

It's released by Paramount and has MPEG-4 AVC codec, LPCM 5.1 24bit or 16bit?
