The only benefit to it, is that it's a hair sharper than the UK release and instead of having a rubbish PiP track encoding eating disc space, the same content appears as simple featurettes. I wouldn't run out to buy it. Same goes for Street Kings. I just thought it had cool artwork and was cheaper than the US release at the time.
It has been now.

Why? Memory hogging makes them look better?

I'm able to view them full res better in chrome, then I am in Firefox, for some reason. Although, the differences are easy enough to spot without going full-res.

The question then is, is it still a hair sharper than AU/ES/DK/SE/NO/FI that have better bitrate than UK?

Thanks a lot!!!

I used Mozilla and didn't have problems to see them (and see the improvement).
Now I'm all the more certain I'll get it with my next japan order, no doubt.

Haven't tried them. Might give the latter two a try, later. I've avoided IE like the plague for over a decade, probably won't change that anytime soon.

I've a funny feeling that they're all from the same master and would yield very little difference.

No reason to. It's fast, stable, and sharp for the past few versions now.

If anyone's interested, CDJapan has significantly dropped the price of the more current Mastered in 4K titles, including, Lawrence of Arabia, Hancock, Jerry Maguire, and The Tourist.

My wallet may be on life support, soon.

Is there an official list for these Japan versions of the MI4K series? I feel like they keep popping up and I don't even know about them but would gladly import them. Groundhog Day was the biggest surprise for me. So happy to find that one!

Those are the only ones I know of, that are specifically from the "Mastered in 4K" line. Groundhog Day, while Mastered in 4K, isn't from that special line. The rest seem to be available everywhere else.

There is also Bridge on the River Kwai, that may be exclusive to Japan, and apparently HK.

Was this title originally done in 16-bit or 24-bit?

So there's no reason to put it on the list then, right?

Well, the uk/ger/nordic have 7.1 over the US 5.1?
Wouldn't that be better AQ?

Depends if it's 7.1 native or a upmix. Nordic discs have been known to upmix in the past but this title seems different since so many versions have the 7.1
