Non-SFX scenes may use 4k footage, otherwise the whole thing is a 4k upconvert. There are a ton of digital effects throughout.

I would be highly skeptical of true 4k effects.

What film isnt full of VFX these days! Only films ive seen with 4k VFX are the nolan films.

Surely its time for big companies ilke disney to move into 4k CGI?

Anyway, hopefully this one will use the higher res film footage. ARRIRAW (3.4K) (source format) according to imdb, so 3.4k.

My understanding (and it may be too early, really) is that Black Panther is 2K VFX and Avengers: Infinity War will be 4K VFX.

You're welcome to attend tomorrow @ 11:15am to find out for sure -
Black Panther: Post Production and VFX Pipeline
Mike Maloney, Image Pipeline Supervisor at Marvel Studios will present a session covering the color-managed workflow used on the blockbuster film Black Panther

or, if you can't make it, given your other interests and understandings, I can let you know where you can hop on this anytime of the year (just don't touch my mountain bike
as parked humbly in the background .....

granted, no matter how colorful the markings …..

or, be they not, as pictorially illustrated in past Insider-ish conversation with Stacey Spears - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...n#post13897510

motorbike coverage is well worthwhile in order to demonstrate a point. even to those who are not hardcore fans of the sport….

I'll say you folks in Japan have got something we here in the U.S. don’t, for which I’d like to see, namely 8K HDR imagery in Sumo wrestling…..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvqs...ex=52#t=26m46s

With regards to workflow, backing up to basics in a 2015 discussion on Blu-ray.com, let’s say that you captured your movie in Arriraw 3.4K (in case unfamiliar a 889KB download - http://www.arri.com/?eID=registration&file_uid=16895 ) and you were only concerned with a 2K final deliverable, would you choose method #1 or #2 - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...20post11671849

Shirley doing the collapso to 2K (using higher res plates for certain VFX zoom-ins or repos) would be preferable if 2K was your endgame?
