Veronique and the Three Colors Trilogy are by far some of the best movies in the collection. With White being the weakest link there. I think you will be happy with either, but they are all must owns IMO.

Both are amazing films. The Black Stallion is a very wonderful film with amazing cinematography which carries many stretches of it without the need for dialog. The movie is a fluke in the Director was able to take so much time making it without studio influence due to how powerful Coppola (producer) was at the time.

The Killers
comes with 2 films. The 40's version is one of the best Film noir's ever made. Tight dialog, dark expressionistic imagery lathered in shadows with a equally dark tone to the characters/story and of course Ava Gardner which is reason enough to purchase. The other version I didn't care for that much, but it was interesting to watch.
I am also a big fan of Veronique and Three Colors. Awesome, thought provoking films.

What Chaplin film would you recommend besides City Lights? I only have this one and want to pick up another Chaplin during the sale. I have seen Modern Times and found it to be enjoyable but not really one that I need to own. I love City Lights.

Was also thinking of possibly getting Make Way for Tomorrow instead of another Chaplin... thoughts?

Updat: Pro-B has updated his review to state that he is only aware of the French release being region free, and can't verify the UK disc being the same. So please keep that in mind if you're buying it

Great news guys, the new release of The Third Man from Studiocanal, which was sourced from a new 4K restoration, has been confirmed to be region free! Pro-B has published his Review, and has noted that this is the best looking version to date

The BD is available in Standard and Collector's editions in the UK (Standard in Germany too), and a Digibook in France.

The release is Region-Free and should be identical to the ones StudioCanal is also releasing in the United Kingdom and Germany (you can see our listings of these releases here and here). If you do not have this film in your collections yet, now is a good time to consider picking up a copy. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Those UK and German covers are too busy!
I prefer the French one, but it has the title in French!

You could pick up Gold Rush (preferred) or The Great Dictator, but Modern Times is my favorite from the Chaplin feature films.

Yea, those darned French, always trying to have everything in their language, why can't they write in English like normal people?
Seriously, how does it matter? It still begins with the same alphabet (not considering The/Le), so it's not going to be seriously displaced in your collection

The German isn't shown above. It is a little cleaner than the UK ones, but in German of course.

Well, prefer the English title.
I'm still regretting that I bought the German digibook of Pillow Talk (to have Greek subtitles), because they didn't have correct information in sites about the UK one, which also included them!

Yeah, I've heard good things about Gold Rush. I do not think I have seen The Great Dictator in its entirety but like a lot of Chaplin films, I saw so many clips, read so much criticism, seen so many stills, etc. while at university that it feels like I have seen it.

Which is perfectly fine, no arguing that.
You should tell my wife I grew up, she swears otherwise.

I second Modern Times. The Great Dictator is also wonderful, but very different from City Lights.

This came out to $31.10 in U.S. dollars, including shipping. This will be the third version of The Third Man that I own. I love this movie.

If Criterion announces this 4K restoration of The Third Man next month, then I swear to God that I'm going to pistol-whip some mofos.

Lots of new ideas for a 8 or 9 year old.
I've been waiting my whole life to see 2001 in the theater.

...I hate you.

We always have to suffer in the UK with dozens of quotes and stars plastered all over our covers. Which is one reason why steelbooks are so attractive (they don't even have the BBFC ratings)

They pretty much do already, it's called Hulu Plus.

(There's also some TV shows and non-Criterion movies on there as a bonus too)

Question, is the first 10 minutes of The Blob supposed to sound hollow and full of noise? It just seemed like the beginning was pretty bad audio wise and then got better around te time Steve took the old man to the doctor.

Maybe he doesn't want to pay to watch commercials when he can watch them on TV for free?
