If they had fundraising campaigns like Arrow and Flicker Alley I am sure many people here would end up paying more to make their dream releases come true.

For now all we can do is wait, I haven't seen Le Samourai

I can't even afford to buy a copy of Pierrot Le Fou.

What do you want me to do...rob a bank?

Become a male prostitute?

Cause I'd do it.

...I'd do whatever it takes.

But I don't really think Tree of Life needs a Criterion release to be honest.

I really like the cover art on the current blu-ray release and I doubt the special features would be significantly better.

I would much rather see Jon Mulvaney get off his sorry butt and get the Le Samourai release taken care of.

Did you hear that Mulvaney?

...I'm done playing around.
Unless it's the rumored 5 or 6 hour cut that Lubezki has talked about in the past.

A five-hour cut of Le Samourai?

It's Tree of Life that has a rumoured five hour cut. Although I am pretty sure the cut I saw was five hours?

Man, I'd rather watch Top Gun!

Its a great film. Even though I have the CC DVD I'd buy a BD upgrade if it day 1. Hopefully it happens sometimes 2016.

Forget Malick for now. We need more Michael Bay in the Criterion Collection with commentary by Peter Cowie.

That's probably the only way on earth we could get the original versions with some decent PQ... I'd be all over that in an instant!

Nice covers, btw

Hopefully more Polanski. Knife In The Water needs a blu-ray upgrade and I'm still hoping that The Tenant will get an appearence on Criterion.

Le Samourai the one blu-ray upgrade most of us are waiting for. Come on Criterion.

Pre-ordered! Nice find.

I had been wanting to order The National documentary Mistaken For Strangers (which inexplicably only has a German release) for awhile now so I ordered then both.

I would be positively giddy if they announced The Tenant. Maybe not as giddy as I was the day they mailed out the Rosemary's Baby clue but still, pretty damned giddy.

I've been avoiding watching Knife in the Water (convinced that a BD release is right around the corner) so that would be welcome too.

But I would be thrilled if they got The Tenant. I saw it for the first time about twenty years ago at The Music Box in Chicago and was absolutely mesmerized. The DVD is definitely watchable but I find the shortcomings very distracting and would love the chance to sink into it without reservation again.

Box sets with their own spine number are displayed by that number, so box set spine facing outward, and box sets with no spine number (BBS) are turned so all single spines are facing outwards.

Zatoichi is the only set that is in its own world since it is too bulky to fit nicely on the shelf with all of the other CCs.

I hope this helps you sleep better at night.

pretty obvious what happened.
Criterion had to figure out some way to make it to today without revealing the announcements because we all know the significance of today in a galaxy far, far away.
Seems clear now that all those rumors were true, but it will be Criterion that will be releasing the ORIGINAL Star Wars Trilogy on bd.
They really wanted the match-up with the opening day of the new film.
mystery solved.
