I'm not that lucky to win the lottery. I've just been saving money since the last sale in November. I also have a couple of gift cards left from Christmas and my birthday.

I bought Being There DVD on a blind buy just because it had Sellers in. Great film

Reminds me that I have to upgrade my The Party DVD. Just never gets old no matter how many times I watch it

I'm going to try and get 6-7 next week. Will try to fit a few more in during the month if money allows. Also for sure will get 4-5 or even more at the beginning of next month before the sale ends on the 8th.

I don't know which one of those two things I envy more. (if my wife ever reads this-"Just kidding, Dear!) I think my biggest haul from one of these B&N sales was 17 titles.

I have a 14 day trial (on day 2) for Filmstruck and plan on taking advantage on what they have to offer. For those familiar with Naruse, here's what's available:

[Show spoiler]
Scattered Clouds
Yearning
Flowing
Floating Clouds
Sound of the Mountain
Late Chrysanthemums
Wife
Mother
Ginza Cosmetics
Street Without End
Every-Night Dreams
Apart from You
No Blood Relation
Flunky, Work Hard

It's certainly an overwhelming selection, so I'm trying to limit with the essentials during this window and work my way from there. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
All the other recommendations are good ones, but ill also add Mother to the list. I wasn't expecting much when I watched it, but it's really stayed with me, and it gave me a crush on Kyoko Kagawa.

As if we needed any more confirmation of a future release, Desert Hearts is now listed on the Janus website.

Also, I'm calling The Lure also being announced for October release with Night of the Living Dead.

So any thoughts on what will be Spine 900?
Nice to see you again...I haven't been posting much in here lately either.

I'll go out on a limb and predict #900 will be Bernardo Bertulucci's epic 5 hour film 1900. It stars Robert Deniro, Burt Lancaster and Donald Sutherland amongst others.

And it's also still in print on Blu-ray from Olive Films.

I know this. I checked this before I posted. Nevertheless, that release doesn't have any HD extras or many supplements to speak of. This is where Criterion excels and Olive does not.

I really hope it happens.

Then iScottie's OOP copy that I've been trying unsuccessfully to haggle with him for will be worth almost nothing.

...NOTHING!!!!
