I might be one of the two you referenced concerning the October titles, hariseldon. Definitely worked for me on Ship-to-Home for the October titles "Vampyr" and "Barry Lyndon." Also was able to apply the 5/50 coupon. (Dumb, me: I should have broken up my 100.00-plus order into 2 50.00-plus orders and used the coupon twice. I guess I was caught off-guard that the coupon worked at all, so only used it once on the total 8-title order. Still gave me a nice extra 5.00 off, so no complaints.)

I won't watch all 32 discs over a say a month's sitting, but every two years I'll enjoy picking out certain games or certain performances. So much history in these games. The Berlin Games with not just with Jesse Owens but the 8-man crew from the University of Washington. Ali winning gold in Rome as an 18 year kid who almost didn't go because the one thing he was afraid to do was flying. The protests on the podium during the Mexico Games. Picking out parts to watch during each Olympiad will be fantastic.

BTW - If you haven't read Boys in the Boat by Daniel Brown it's a great read.

Very disappointing that a film like Tokyo Olympiad is just shoved into a box set. Was hoping we'd get it individually. I can't justify spending this much for one film.

I'm not convinced Grand Budapest Hotel is coming this year anymore. Releasing it around Isle of Dogs seems much more likely.

Hey guys! I picked up 20 titles from the sale and made a quick Criterion hunting and haul video.

So, if spine 900 is being released in December, and 899 is being released in October, does that mean no November releases?

Possible maybe just upgrades of current numbers.

I'm on my second run through the 30 for 30 "big ticket" set, great stuff. And that's only 20 discs! When I read the description for this Olympics set I think I was drooling.

Don't know where I'll get the money from but it's definitely on my want list. Getting to see "Olympia" in HD is enough to get me to buy it, can't imagine seeing all these films in glorious hi-def. Great announcement.

I doubt it. They probably announced it early (five days before the 15th, the typical day of announcements) so they can add new spines with an easier mind.

Fair enough. It can truly be apples to oranges for some and I respect that.

(Just keep in mind I bought that darn Ingrid Bergman Criterion when that $20 could have been spent on hundreds of other better docs, so the jokes partly on me. )

Only the BFI set. Essential viewing, and I think the Criterion release rated a tad higher on Beaver.

Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon boxset
Although, 1000 eyes of Dr. Mabuse would be a nice second.

Just got my B&B $10 gift code so those who were still waiting to get there, may want to check their email. Now I just need to find one more Criterion to buy with it.
