I've never understood this. Granted I own almost all of them but Wes must have the CEO of Criterion in his phone under Booty Call.

Yeah, I've never even seen it, but knowing it's Gilliam makes it the only title I'm interested in (aside from the total pipe dream of that Olympics set).

He's a top seller and has a good working relationship with him, thats all.
I'd imagine the sales of his films have funded many restorations they've done.

Probably the "more Chaplin/Fellini/Bergman" chants will be louder.

Mi pick is Andrei Rublev, a non-anamorphic DVD from... the 90s?

Some contenders:

Night of the Living Dead
The Grand Budapest Hotel
The Tree of Life
Sixteen Candles
The Room

As for the announcements, I'm thrilled Criterion is releasing Le Samourai around the JPM's centennial. I'm anxious to revisit The Philadelphia Story. Every time I think of the film I can hear Katharine Hepburn saying "Un-cle Will-ay".

Yes and some are saying it's Franco's best performance of his career. In the very least it will be entertaining.

I'd buy a Criterion of The Room though.

Night of the Living Dead deserves a CC release the most out of those.

I would buy a Criterion version of The Room on day one even if a sale was nearby. The amount of extras that release could have is staggering.

Extras on the existing Blu-Ray are kinda funny, but I'd welcome more.

Maybe they could add The Disaster Artist as an extra. Or maybe just release The Disaster Artist and add The Room as the extra. Either way, a two-movie set is warranted.

Le Samouraļ

I can finally retire from buying Blu-rays in November. Woo hoo!

This is one of my all-time top five movies.

The Passion of Joan of Arc had to be up there pretty high. My most wanted upgrade besides Le Samourai.

Happy to go finally move on from the DVD of Le Samourai soon. Rough looking disc, absolutely can't wait to see what Criterion does with the blu.

And I agree on Jabberwocky being a head-scratcher. I love Gilliam and haven't seen it since VHS I think, but since I'm long past my "drunk/stoned watching stuff with a big group of friends" days I'm not sure it'll hold up. I'll still check it out though.
