Not particularly. However, the film seems right up the studio's alley, not to mention the existing Fox Blu-ray has been OOP for quite some time. (It's my understanding that Criterion has a good relationship with Fox.)

I just noticed that The Unbearable Lightness of Being is currently showing on the Criterion Channel. I would very much love to see this get a blu ray release in 2020.

I was always under the impression that this had a Criterion release. I always thought LD, but I'm probably not correct. 47 Ronin would be a desired release for me.

I have the OOP Criterion DVD of THE UNBEARABLE LIGHTNESS OF BEING and would love to see it finally hit Blu. That scene where Daniel Day-Lewis' Tomas first seduces Juliette Binoche's Tereza is wonderfully funny and sexy...American Philip Kaufman frequently brought a playful sensuality to his films that felt downright European.

A terrific film from a terrific director.

Philip Kaufman is really underappreciated, IMO. He made so many varied and interesting films. Two other films that would make good Criterion selections would be Henry and June and Quills.
