I’ve been refreshing the Blu-ray.com homepage, the Criterion homepage, and the Criterion “coming soon” page for hours, in addition to repeatedly searching “criterion october 2023” on Google.

One dude’s trolling big time, he actually has a video on his YouTube page called “Criterion Collection October 2023 Titles REACTION!” and when you click on it, it tells you that the video doesn’t go live until 7:00 PM EST, after we already get the news.

This one’s a little batty, but I’m bummed the death row bit from the original DVD of The Silence Of The Lambs isn’t on the later releases. That old DVD’s worth buying for that alone.

I'd get both of those. I still have my "Spirit of the Beehive" and "Z" DVDs on the shelves with my Criterion blu's. Many other Criterion DVDs, too. I had "Mamma Roma" on there until recently...

There's no denying that Criterion does excellent work. Their output this year has been superb, putting out titles like After Hours and One False Move for the first time on both Blu-ray and 4K UHD. And while I understand that they are a company, and some of their decisions are made with financial success in mind (they do need money to work after all), it is still disappointing to me that so many titles are rotting away in standard definition hell.

Well, just the Browning set for me, but it's a good one!

I'm not 4K, so don't need DLN or VideoDrome. (Have great blus of them).
And I've no interest in the two newer films.

Well, they went full-on Halloween mode for the horror-hounds, this year.

The Browning set is a must-have! I like the inclusion of The Mystic—I've never seen or nor ever heard of it, despite having seen a dozen of Browning's films. Very exciting that they paired that with two of his greatest films!

Love everything about that Browning set. A particularly nice little surprise is getting Dean Hurley to do a new score for The Mystic. Lynch fans know what I'm talkin' about.
