I had ordered all 9 replacement cases & received this email today for anyone who was still wondering about their order

Thank you for your email and patience!

We did receive your payment successfully, however, we did not have the BOTTLE ROCKET replacement cases available until right before the Holidays. Now that we are back in the office, I'd be happy to mail the cases out to you!

I hope this is helpful! Thank you again for your patience and understanding and for supporting Criterion!

Guess that goes to show they do not write personalized emails to customers.

Here's some pics of the Benjamin Button cover in the clear plastic case.
The pictures don't do it justice, it looks as good as the original.

That looks great, man. Where'd you get the spare Criterion-style case from? The only thing that could make it better is if you had a 2-disc case.

Any chance you could post that for download, or PM me a link? I'd love to have it.

Awesome work.

I borrowed the case from my Wages of Fear copy. I'm waiting for the cases to arrive from Criterion so I can use one of those. Send me a PM with an email address and I'll send over a hi-res PDF.

DVDBeaver review of Criterion Spine # 500: Roberto Rosselini's War Trilogy (DVD only release).

I might just have to get this (even though I've never seen any of the films) during the next 50% off sale...those extras sound fantastic and I don't believe these will hit HD for a LONG time.

Hey guys,
I just had a quick question. I just finished watching Gamorrah and I thought it was an amazing movie. I just wanted to hear from a couple of you Criterion collectors what you guys thought of the movie

Seen Rome Open City about 5 times, it's amazing. Haven't seen the others, though.

apologies if this has been asked before - i have just got my Oppo BD83 region selectable so I'm interested in buying some criterion blu-ray.

Where's the best/cheapest place to buy and what should i watch out for in terms of cases/version etc?

Thanks,
Mick

If you havent seen the films, isnt that good enough reason to get them?

And these 50% off sales you are talking about, how often do they accour?

The 50% off sales have occurred twice at Barnes & Noble this past year... once in July 2009 and the other in November 2009. Each sale lasted about 2 weeks.

Seeing that your from Dublin and having to import the Criterions, I'm really not too sure. Your best bet might be trying to find them through forums from other members, if you're not wanting to go through an online retailer like Amazon. I would try to find yourself a copy of "The Third Man," though, if you're interested since it's already been discontinued by Criterion. It's going to fetch a higher price, I'm sure, though, than the others.

DVD pacific is a great site if you need to avoid import taxes in Ireland. They normally send their films in anonymous packages that escape national tax authorities.....
Their prices are okay without being the cheapest......

Just sent a paypal payment for a new case for Bottle Rocket, hopefully they still have stock, I had sent a previous order for 4 other cases back on the 18th. Hopefully those shipped and are on their way. I did replacements for Last Year at Mar./ Last Metro/ Man Who Fell to Earth/ 400 Blows.
