Not sure if this is the place for speculation, but what do folks on here think the June releases could be?

This is exactly the place for that type of speculation. Unfortunately Criterion is too good at keeping their releases a secret.
I can only hope June is even close to May in quality releases. Doubt it though considering how great that May lineup is.

Hopefully Charlie Chaplin releases are not too distant since Criterion now has rights to many of his films. But I imagine those are many months away.

I just did some more digging, and it looks like Red Shoes might be coming in June.

The Days of Heaven review is up and I cannot wait for the release. The movie is a fantastic journey that I have seen several times over the years. The Criterion DVD is great, but the BD seems to be an absolute must-own. Great review Pro-B and nice to hear about the great supplements.

My June picks:

The Red Shoes
The Leopard
Night Train to Munich

And hoping for Seven Samurai but I suspect it's too early....

Ugg, I'm disappointed if those are indeed the picks.

The list is to long to post. I just don't think the rumored lineup is very impressive by Criterion standards. Good films, but they pale compared to prior month's lineups.

What happened to Red Desert? I thought we would see that in June.

I see:

Red Desert
The Red Shoes
The Leopard
Night Train to Munich (dvd only)

Hi,

I am not sure whether the reference to The Red Shoes was this release.

It was available briefly in the UK via Amazon. It still appears to be available at DVD.CO.UK for a great price.

DVD Beaver has a great review:
"On that subject I've been watching the ITV Red Shoes Blu-ray - the photochemical restoration of this is a glory and a testamentary labor of love by all involved. There are details that catch your eye that I don't remember seeing since 35mm screenings decades ago".

I know you guys are up with the latest information and I apologise in advance if I am telling you something you are already aware of.

Cheers,

Alan

Word is Criterion has been working on blus of Koyaanisqatsi, Powaqqatsi, and Naqoyqatsi, at least according to what director Godfrey Reggio said in a Q&A at a recent screening.

Some Criterion Blu I'd be ecstatic to see:

Hiroshima Mon Amour (Get it done before Resnais dies!)

Before Sunrise/Sunset Box

Did they ever release Before Sunrise/Sunset? I have their copy of Dazed and Confused, and I think they released Slacker as well, but I thought that was the extent of their Linklater offerings...

I was wondering the other day, does anyone know if Criterion discs have BD-live capabilities? I haven't seen on any of the menus so I'm doubting it. Usually BD-live is pretty worthless stuff IMO, but Criterion could do some pretty amazing things with it. Imagine if they were to unearth say interviews with actors or directors at the time of a films release, and were to add that content later via BD-live. Seems that they would have more worthwhile uses of the tech than most studios.

Nope but I think Me and Orson Welles is CC's for the taking if they're interested.

Hoping the same for sunrise/sunset
