you know I saw that film in the theater when it came out, and it really did nothing for me.
I'm not sure I can even remember why that was, but
I see it mentioned a lot as a great film, so maybe I'll give it another shot.

Did you like Wings of Desire, Pierrot Le fou and Vivre sa vie?

In its time, it was a polarizing, almost comical look at the growing competitive tv news biz. A great film and very timely when it came out. Now, with the internet, not such a factor in life much anymore and interest has waned.

Viewed Play Time for the first time. Great film, one concern though. I noticed a lot of instances where the audio would seem to crackle during some dialogue. Particularly when characters raised their voices. Did anyone notice this? It wasnt mentioned in the review here, but it is definitely noticable.

EDIT: Hmmm, just re-read the audio portion of the review. Guess I missed it, but he does mention that the crackles were 'attenuated'. Attenuated but still noticable I suppose.

I notice on your spreadsheet is missing Wrong Men & Notorious Women in the Collector's set area.

Thanks for letting me know...updated it right now.

Broadcast News on BD would be great!!! I think people have been wanting to see a Criterion release for the film for the longest time now.

i don't have a Paypal account, is there any other way for me to order replacement cases? I seem to remember someone posting about an order being taken over the phone...

Also for the owners of "The Third Man", is that set a 1 or 2 disc?

Thanks in advance

Not "think" but "Know". If you save the pic from the e-mail it says "wackyGnus".

I refuse to ever deal with PayPal again so I e-mailed Criterion and had them bill my credit card for replacement cases. They will take your order that way.

I believe that was the e-mail I used. If it's not I'm sure they will forward it on to the correct person.

Has anyone had any experience with Criterions defective disc replacement program?

I just tried watching Pierot and it skipped numerous times and there is only one tiny scratch on the disc

Finished Close-up which I enjoyed much more than I expected. Can not decide on which one to watch next, Leopard or Everlasting Moments, suggestions?
