I'm pretty sure you're correct about this. I was standing behind two people, a man and a woman in line for a screening of The Leopard at the Lincoln Center's Walter Reade Theater a couple years ago. They were talking about writing cover text for DVD releases or something like that, which kind of got my attention. Anyway, at one point she asked him, "So, are you still at Criterion doing the Mulvaney thing?" He kind of rolled his eyes and said he was, but they didn't carry the conversation beyond that. I don't remember his name (I believe she said it), but it certainly wasn't Jon Mulvaney.

I wouldn't always believe what I hear people say in person. But I do believe that cc actually met him because he typed it in this forum.

I do think it is funny that this person may not exist. For a while now, I always thought it was real just because.

The "entity" known as "Jon Mulvaney" is or is not the "man".

Well, I usually never kiss and tell... but, in this case how could I not.

I'm still trying to adjust to my new surroundings in Kentucky... and CG is such a sweet young boy, more so than all of you would think. I couldn't ask for a better "son" than he.

We're both so proud of him.

I think my fav would be the Seven Samurai as well...also a big fan of the Breathless slip/packaging.

Dude, that's NOT a slipcover. The correct term is a SLIPBOX.

But to be honest, I like slipcovers too. If a movie has one, I get it. But I guess not to the point of obsessing like buying a movie I don't like just because it has one or buying multiple copies with the only difference being the other one says "Exclusive Edition", etc.

He/She/It is always very cordial and polite, and also has been very generous sending out replacement packaging for my damaged ones in the past.

If I had to bet, I would say there is a person with the name Jon Mulvaney who answers emails all day whilst sitting in a cozy office overlooking the city. When I go to NJ this summer, I'm tempted to take a little trip to NYC and show up on their doorstep.

B&N just cancelled my "Paths of Glory" order. They are unable to get it, although according to the site the item is in stock and available to ship in 24 hours.

I'm gonna bet that that's about as far as you'll get.

They're located in the same building that CVS Pharmacy is a part of on 215 Park Avenue South, so you just have to go up to the 5th floor and see what happens.

Holy crap, I think I actualy walked past that building before on one of my other NYC trips.

Where did you say you ran into this Mulvaney character before? And what was the interaction like? Did you actually speak to him?
