if this is supposed to be witty, it fails because the version of Solaris being released is the original foreign film, not the 2002 Soderbergh film

Really??? I didn't know that! Well I am still praying for Ocean's 11, 12, and 13 in a Criterion box set!

PS Criterion are still working on getting Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, right?

It would be cool if they announce the release of both versions of Solaris next week. It would be cool to maybe hear more about the concepts Soderbergh was going to attempt, esp with his original music choices etc. I would assume their is a lot of deleted footage.

If you have the BBS Copy of Easy Rider, stick with it..... The other is a fine release, but nothing that would make me think I'll ever watch it again now that I have the version in the BBS set.

People are lazy..... By the way... have you heard anything regarding the chances of Criterion releasing "Solaris" on Blu-ray?? I heard they hinted it with some drawing of some sort.... I'll have to find a link......
Hey...in my own defense, I was busy copying and pasting the email plus uploading the attachment of the cover pic. By the time I had posted...so did a dozen other people.

I AM NOT LAZY!

My bad. I didn't see that the Solaris announcement had already been made.

He was referring to what could be called the "natural life" of vinyl, not the zombie resurrection stuff.

Sounding "better" is a matter of opinion and taste. I've heard both the digital version and "analog" versions of the Beatles "Boxsets" and as superlative as the iTunes/CD versions are, there is a warmth that the half-speed masters on Supervinyl have, that lacks on the digital version. Especially the vocals and acoustic guitar.

I disagree with you as far as likes of "non-Barrett" Floyd, as I'm quite fond of "Obscured" and "Meddle". But "Pipers at the Gates of Dawn" was such a stand out album, as no band was producing this kind of music at this time.

Even Bowie said that Syd Barrett was a major infuence on his music and lamented his death.

Here's a better question rkish, who was his influence on his acting?

Glad that Solaris is coming to Blu-ray. I just watched it for the first time a few days ago.

I am really excited about Solaris.

Also, I just finished watching Revanche, for the second time. What an amazing fil that is. In my opinion, one of the all-time best. The characters are so good, and the story is just so perfect. The whole movie is perfect. I'm a huge fan.

Zip.ca appears to slowly getting back in the swing of things. I watched Shock Corridor this week; today I received The Naked Kiss and Broadcast News; and Robinson Crusoe on Mars is in the mail. I just hope they continue picking up the new Blu releases, even if, for some reason, they are a few weeks later than in the US.

How do you go about getting the replacement case from Criterion. I would love to get the new case for my Paper copy of Chungking Express. Thank you.

i dont have F&LiLV.

the reason i ask is films from both Criterion and Studio Canal can overlap. films like M, Third Man are available via both Criterion & SC. KINO and MoC is another example, Metropolis complete is on both. i'd like to get my hands on all those copies... even if it's minor diff. the bonus extra is diff.

Andrei Rublev has been released in Russia, but I think it is out-of-print now.

If (and I said if) Wild Strawberries is released in May along with Solaris, it will be my first double-dip double-dip as I own both on DVD already and love them. Those two would make a great May for me.
