Well assumptions can be problematic. We should have asked, as his enjoyment of the film, if he has seen it could give us a better indication as to which of the other two would be a good choice to get. Many people are also going under the assumption that he's new to Godard as well.

I think both are great, but i'd go with Pierrot Le Fou first because, as others mentioned, its OOP. Most are must haves IMO. And if you haven't yet I'd check out Vivre Sa Vie which is my favorite of the three. Whichever you get though you won't be let down, theyre all great films.

Buy every Godard Criterion has issued on blu-ray. Can't go wrong.

I think Criterion needs to release Fail-Safe. It would pair well with 12 Angry Men and Hopscotch.

They're releasing Wim Wenders' road trilogy?! That's awesome! I've been interested ever since watching one of the features on Paris, Texas!

In other news, excited and saddened that my films will be shipped today, most likely! Excited because I wanted them for so long, but saddened because I didn't get Branded to Kill, Tokyo Drifter, and Tiny Furniture. I had to delete them to make sure I had enough money in my bank account till I get more. Oh well, they'll still be there, and I don't need them right now.

I'm probably more anxious at buying Berlin Alexander Platz, and worrying about a blu-ray release since it had an HD restoration. Oh well, got all three movies for $40, so an upgrade wouldn't hurt all that much.

I'd cream myself if they announce Weekend or the Wenders set. Also, any Fassbinder (upgrade or otherwise).
