Ordered a Billy Wilder, two Gene Tierneys (the only thing better than one!), and in a moment of uncommon synchronicity, the new release because I really wanted it!

Ordered Pierrot Le Fou, Le Samourai, Blow Out and The Elephant Man.
Also preordered Parasite because it will sell like hot cakes in the Barnes and Noble sale.

I just woke up after chasing a migraine all afternoon. I'm seeing a lot of great orders, despite some lingering technical issues with the site.

I was done less than ten minutes after the sale went live, and feel very fortunate to have gotten everything on my list. I'm excited to get these in, especially the Agnes Varda and Éric Rohmer sets. They'll serve as my introduction to both artists.

Up here in Canada, Unobstructed View has their own flash sale for Criterion titles going on today, coinciding with the criterion.com sale Stateside. Shipping rates are better for us hoseheads.

Lots of Blu-rays are marked down from CAD$50 to CAD$30 (in stock items only) ... plus a select few 25 Criterion Blus are marked down to CAD$25. Criterion DVDs are also marked down by a similar %age.

Because their site crashed initially from all the Canucks clamoring for cut-rate Criterion Collections, they're extending the sale by an extra day. Check it out. Be warned that the site is still a bit slow.

I picked up:

The Lady Vanishes (CAD$30)

The 39 Steps (CAD$25)

Night Train to Munich (CAD$30)

What a cool spectrum in your list! I’ve wanted to check out that Kennedy Associates disc for ages. I love those sort of quotidian windows into other eras. Anything by the Maysle Brothers, Agnes Varda, Louise Malle, D.A. Pennebaker, etc. ♡

I wish Criterion would include their t-shirts in this sale.

Another company has the rights in the US. They were planning on releasing it this year, but it hit some sort of rights issue. That was like 3-4 months ago, so not sure if anything has changed since then.

I'm only getting one film from the flash sale and I'm debating between Heaven Can Wait and The Gunfighter. Both are blind-buys. Which one would you recommend? Thanks in advance!

The Gunfighter is a top-tier western that I wish more people acknowledge, but your collection and reviews seem to lean more to Heaven Can Wait, which I also love and probably one of the underappreciated among Lubitsch's oeuvre. So either way, you really can't lose.

In my order for today I got some pretty great stuff.

Bruce Lee: His Greatest Hits
Hidden Fortress
Seven Samurai
Yojimbo
Blue Velvet
Short Cuts

Excited to be able to sit down and watch it all. Love these kinds of sales. My only question is how is Criterion's shipping? Are the items in the package usually packed well and not prone to get ruined.

I'm a big Rohmer fan. His films are filled with genuine intelligence, joy and humor. Once you check out his Six Moral Tales, you'll definitely want to see his Comedies and Proverbs, so you might want to pick up the Arrow set ASAP.

After 6 years I finally reached the $50 cert! (Plus a $10 code) But I get nailed with tax now so I don't feel as beholden to these flash sales after today. The haul:

Six of these I haven't seen and the rest I haven't seen in many years. I always want to try more contemporary films (almost bought Tree of Life) but I love classic films too much.

Not too many this time around:

A couple that were OOS during the last B&N sale and five that were released since then.
