I kept reading this as Dressed to Kill and was about to post that it's gotta be a UHD since there's no reason for Criterion to rerelease a Blu-ray that's still in print.

I'm not a fan of Body Double but it is nice to see it given a great treatment.

There is a very good chance that the author of the article saw 'Body Double' appear on the Criterion Channel and assumed that Criterion was going to release this on blu, so take this with a big grain of salt.

That's what I'm thinking. Especially since they say a deluxe edition coming to the Criterion Channel and not Collection. Their reporting could be faulty.

My municipal library (granted its in a major city) has pretty much the entire slate of Criterion on Blu-ray!

Yeah, nice to see this. I'm really hoping they do I Vitelloni, but I have my doubts.

Kane & Mulholland will be instant buys in November.

Best month they’ve ever had. I’m buying all of them…even though they all have awful covers

Welp Criterion is trending on Twitter. Mostly just making memes about the Citizen Kane cover.

Covers don't mean much to mean, its the content that counts, but Criterion needs to fire the person who makes the decisions on cover art.

I wish they'd at least give us the option for the original poster art like Shout, Arrow and a bunch of other companies do these days.

I'm really happy that The Once Upon A Time in China series has finally been picked up because I wanted Criteron to release it for ages. My Christmas list is going to be huge with so many movies on there .

I hope Criteron will pick up the One Arm Swords Man movies next unless Arrow beats them to it.

Citizen Kane is the laziest cover I've ever seen, but the content it comes with sounds very promising. I'm satisfied with the prices on these 4Ks. Can't wait till they release more.

Criterion came out swinging. The message is clear: UHD is the way forward.

I'm in for Citizen Kane and Once Upon a Time in China, but man, that cover for Kane has got to be the lowest effort design I've ever seen. Hoping it comes in a case I can put a custom cover on.

How do you know what Criterion releases will come out in the UK? Will Once Upon A Time In China?

Eureka has the rights to the first 3 in the UK, so this set might just be US/CA only.

I already pre-ordered(future proof purchase) Citizen Kane and Menace II Society(blind buy). I already have two blu-ray editions of Mulholland Drive, including the Criterion, and Studio Canal AFAIK is handling the HDR'ing of that title, so I'll wait and see how it turns out, given I don't even have a 4K setup to begin with yet. I already have La Strada in the Fellini set and the Once Upon a Time in China set isn't something I'd blind buy.

In any case, does this mean there's going to be a march through the catalog to upgrade to UHD like there was before in order to upgrade the bulk of their DVD titles to blu-ray? I have no issues with them abandoning DVD, but if they begin to focus too heavily on UHD-ready titles it could limit what they add to the catalog. I doubt they intend to ever actually release titles like They Live by Night or Memories of Underdevelopment on UHD.

You can check the UK Releases | The Criterion Collection or Criterion's uk twitter. For October the UK are getting La Dolce Vita, Love & Basketball and The Damned...no news just yet for the UK releases coming in November. Fingers crossed for some of the 4k goodness

Kind of unfortunate that the sixth "Once Upon A Time In China" film is being treated as a bonus feature, without the "Restoration" tag attached to it, but I'm definitely going to pick this one up.
