Anyhoo. I've got 83% of the current Blu-ray releases. I was keeping at 100% until about the time of "The Secret of the Grain" and then some financial woes kept me slightly behind.

Wow jcs...I'd have to do a head count on my DVDs...I literally have them stacked on a number of shelves and have lost count a while ago. Lots of classic animation, some classic TV shows (Hill Street Blues, Millenium, etc.) LOTS of documentaries (Ken Burns New York, David Attenborough docs, etc.).

I probably have more "films" on BD than DVD and more "TV related" material on DVD.

Well...I don't own "By Brakhage", but I would consider them as "short films" and not "feature length films" (or as we call them in the "silents" community, multiple reel features).

Films with me in them???

There is only one that I know of, but I'm sure you haven't seen it.

I was upset, too, when I saw somebody on IMDb with my same name. However, the listing has our listings combined as one person, so now my name is also attached to some other crap movie.

Here you go... it's the Joe Bob Briggs'-approved review of the documentary I was a part of back in 2003. Joe Bob says check it out!

Oh, I don't mean the individual shorts. I just meant Vol. 1 (Spine 184) and Vol. 2 (Spine 517) as two seperate titles. Just like you did with the Montery Pop Set. By no means a complaint, just an observation. Cheers.

LOL...well...that narrows it down A LOT.

For me...six. "For All Mankind" (my first...and what eventually got me collecting CC BDs...it was also my first CC BD), "Spartacus" (and I have NOT bought the Universal BD! ), and most recently, "3 Silent Classics by Josef von Sternberg" and "Science Is Fiction", which my wife picked out. She has pretty good taste and also likes any work by the Quay Brothers.

Well, if that's the case, rkish, I hope you've picked up the BFI release of Institute Benjamenta for her. It's a lovely release, indeed. There's a review on the site, too, if you haven't seen it already.

now that is the kind of filmmaking that needs to be brought to Criterion's attention.

I haven't been a part of the band since 2004 when I moved up to RI, but I still think it's a shame that the film got caught up in all kinds of legal stuff with companies that never came through on what they promised... and, because of that, the film never received a proper release on video.

The film festival cut was a bit over 2 hours and too long of a story for an unsigned band that no one's heard of, but the final cut to be released was tightened up and just under 1.5 hours, which lent to a much better pace. Anyway...

Thanks CC! I did tell her about it and she seemed somewhat interested in it.

Maybe we can pool orders and I'll get her Institute Benjamenta and pick up Tokyo Story for myself.

Just curious...is Institute Benjamenta region B or region-free? That's the difference between watching it in my bedroom or watching downstairs on my Momitsu.
