Not really all that insane considering they own the rights to the films that they release (no money being paid towards licensing), and that they are a billion dollar major corporation (which means that they can afford to sell titles at a lower price).

Yep and yep. I did cave on a couple new releases in the last year, though: Pump up the Volume and Baby Doll. Had to own those ASAP.

Just because they're a billion dollar major corporation it doesn't mean I can't be extremely appreciative of the excellent product they put out. I was simply being hyperbolic when I said "it's insane that WAC titles can be so inexpensive." That's the fan in me speaking. Again, to circle back to my main point: their encodes are in a class above Criterion's.

Spot on and let’s not forget the primary driver of the major catalog owners to restore titles is to build out their own streaming networks, especially in the case of WB and HBO Max, or for licensing the titles to independent streaming platforms, e.g., Criterion. The disc sales are simply the icing on the cake or tax write off chicken feed, depending on your title or seat.
