I attended a panel on Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio in Beverly Hills tonight. Afterwards, I got a moment with GDT and asked if the B&W version of Nightmare Alley is still getting released on disc because it doesn't look great on Hulu. He agreed with that and said, "It's coming from Criterion."

This is an odd choice. There's already a pretty good 4K release out there and it's been pretty cheap, I feel like unless it's a 4K (with the B&W Version) with a lot to offer, their market has been canibalized already.

The regular Fox release is fairly light on extras, so if they could add a commentary track from GDT along with other supplements (plus the B&W version on disc) then I think it'll be worth it. I think if it was up to GDT, he'd want all his films to be released by Criterion if he could (not unlike Wes Anderson, and Lynch). I wouldn't be surprised to see Pinocchio coming out on 4K from Criterion as well.

Can anyone provide a template such as this one from (Kino Lorber) for our Criterion sales for me please and thanks if you can?

4 big sales every year.

Late March - mid April
Late June - mid July
Late Sep - mid Oct
Dec 1 to around the 20th (Winter Wonderland)

Criterion's flash sale is late Feb/early March and late October/early November.

Only 24 hours, usually starting at noon on a Tuesday.

There are no direct promises from Criterion to actually continue those sales, so we're always in a small tizzy about whether they'll actually happen or not, not to mention trying to figure out when they'll happen. We find out usually the day before or so with an email blast to their followers announcing it. There are other tea leaves to read as well.

There's also a semiannual half off Barnes and Noble sale which, I think, is July and October.
