Happy Sam Fuller day to all. Enjoy the films-

Le cercle rouge is a great film, I really recommand it.
It has already been released on region-B Blu-ray in the StudioCanal Collection (see here).
On DVD, there was a significant color-timing difference between the region-1 Criterion DVD and the region-2 StudioCanal DVD. (See comparison here).
So I'll wait the release of the Criterion Blu-ray to compare it to the StudioCanal Blu-ray to see if there's still the difference, and which one is better.

Criterion has pretty much admitted error in their color-timing on Le cercle rouge, so we can only hope that their transfer to blu-ray yields different results than their DVD release. I'm sure they've seen the Studio Canal Collection release, as well.

Lee Kline @ Criterion: Even with a reference print on Le cercle rouge, we may have gone a little too far with saturation.

I like this Sam Fuller quote:
"If a story doesn't give you a hard-on in the first couple of scenes, throw it in the goddamn garbage."

No word yet on my Barnes and Noble order for the Fullers, but I am very happy that they have shipped my copy of Pierrot le Fou.

I could definitely go for some Fuller this weekend, so hopefully they ship soon (although I am not holding my breath).

B&N seem to be significantly behind on their website updates. My Army of Shadows, just showed up on friday, yet the website said it had not shipped. Strangely, I got the shipping confirmation e-mail from them today, even though I already received it. I called them about the Fullers and Crusoe and they said it shipped this morning and gave me the track number over the phone. They said the website is behind, no kidding.

Yeah, I had something similar happen. They sent me an email telling me that the Godard was delayed, and wouldn't ship for five days, and then just a few hours later I had a shipped email with a tracking number. Who knows what is going on with them.

Is it coming at some point? Seems almost certain. Could it still be a while? Absolutely. Keep in mind that sometimes the movies featured in clues take a long time to show up, and we still haven't seen some titles hinted at a year ago.

Has Best Buy been keeping up with stocking current Criterion blus?
I just got $10 in reward zone stuff, and was going to pick up on of the February releases next month if they carry it.

The only Criterion release I have seen in a long time at the Best Buy near here is The Thin Red Line. I think it really depends on where you live, and whether your Best Buy is one of the stores that is downsizing its media sections.

Sorry if this has been asked already, but any idea why all new Criterion releases from the past couple weeks seem to have a two week delay up here in Canada? BB, FS, HMV, etc., all have releases for this week coming out Feb 1st, and last week's new releases for the 25th of this month??

I've emailed them but no reply.

Seems they only respond if a question is posted on the facebooks.

Give them time. Jon has always been good about responding to emails.
