I was lucky, as I logged onto facebook I clicked on the comments and within a few seconds Criterion posed that question. Of course, I don't remember a clue regarding that film from the drawing.

My apologies in advance, as this is NOT a Criterion release (OT ALERT!!!). But as you are all intelligent and well versed in cinema...

What can you tell me about this release...besides the fact that it's region B:

L'AGE D'OR.jpg

I know that SpiderBaby and kndy might be able to chime in on this one.

OK...we now return to the Criterion Collection Discussion...already in progress.

Has anyone else not received their order from the sell last month? I still haven't recieved them and they haven't even been shipped yet.

Criterion said they were supposed to be back in stock this week and that was last week.

It's early Bunuel and, if I remember correctly, is much more "surreal" than some of his later stuff. That is to say there is less of a traditional narrative. Also why Un Chien Andalou is with it (besides also being early). It's been years so I can't really describe it more than that.

Well, I know that you can rent it on Netflix, rkish. So, I expect you'll be doing that soon.

I'm sure I read on their Facebook page, or Twitter, or somewhere yesterday that most titles should be back in stock over the next few days and the remaining orders should be filled by next week.

Going to do a random Criterion blind buy this evening. Quick, some suggestions, and a reason if you want! Preferably discs available at FutureShop, they are the only ones I can consider today.

I have no idea what FutureShop carries, but from a quick glance at what you have I'd recommend the following:

Cronos
House
M
The Magician
Night of the Hunter
Seven Samurai
Wages of Fear

Paths of Glory
M
Bigger Than Life (I've still only watched this once but I think more highly of it the longer it rattles around in my head)

"M" and "Night of the Hunter" would be my first two choices.....

Night of the Hunter has a great commentary too.

My FutureShop carries all of the Criterions that Futureshop stocks according to their website, and even others that aren't on the website! They actually have a really good selection.

I like how the o's in Moon make the symbol for infinity.

I have a degree in Pure Math and am a total math nerd. Stuff like this turns me on.

Your lucky. I think it could be my area, I doubt Criterion sell very well and it's probably the reason they don't carry these type of movies. Stuff like Avatar however they can't stock enough of those to keep up
