The replay value is high. I would grab it.

Indeed it is, plus as Criterion's go, it's an extremely accessible film if you don't normally enjoy the thought of a "typical" Criterion title. That is to say, it's an American film with a cast of well-known actors.

And again, there is a second De Palma feature-length film as a supplement, amongst other extras.

BBS, Kes, White Material and Le Cercle Rouge for $109.96? Hard to pass that up.

It was hard not to add Naked Kiss (and I wasn't even that crazy about Shock Corridor) and Blow Out but I had to stop somewhere.

The prices on the Criterions are suprising. Must have to do with the low american dollar.

Indeed, I wanted to get all the discounted titles I don't yet have, but times are tight at the moment.

Also, for anyone whose orders were placed or shipped today (after 12:00AM PDT / 3:00 AM EDT) before the price drop, I believe Amazon will refund you the difference--it's worth calling them up to ask though: 1-866-216-1072

Damn... Really don't have the extra cash right now... But I can't pass this up.

I can only afford about $100. So I guess I have to pick 5 out of:

"8 1/2"
"The Red Shoes"
"Broadcast News"
"Sweet Smell of Success"
"Breathless"
"M"
"Army of Shadows"
"Shock Corridor"

UGH...

It's probably Amazon trying to one-up Barnes and Noble before that sale that next 50% off sale that should be in June/July.

OH FOR F--- SAKE. I haven't even received my Le Cercle Rouge yet. Wasted $10.

Glad I had to cancel my Amarcord pre-order though, I'm much more comfortable paying $18 for that kind of quality.

And my Blow Out shipped last night but it should be refunded under the pre-order price guarantee.

I might also get Modern Times, Kes and/or White Material depending on how many days the sale goes on for.

Seriously rethinking some of my current pre-orders though. I really would prefer it if they could have consistently decent prices (maybe $23-24) instead of keeping everything at $30 for years and then doing something like this out of nowhere. But no matter what I do it'll no doubt be the wrong thing. If I keep them then they'll have another sale in a couple of months, if I cancel then they won't, and everything will shoot up in price and stay there.

I wish more of the older titles were reduced. I need several that were released early on. I wonder if they will keep dropping throughout the day?

Breathless worth a blind buy?

I loved Pierrot le Fou.

The price dropped on release day, doesn't matter if it has shipped, they'll refund the difference.

And I pre-order everything I might want as soon as the titles are up on Amazon, because after a week or so they tend to jump from $27.99 to $29.99 (look at all the July pre-orders for example.) Often the price goes down again before it's released, but sometimes it doesn't. And for the last two years or so Amazon prices have sucked so badly there hasn't really been much of a drawback to pre-ordering.

*Sighs*

I over extended... ... Had to do it...

My Final Order:

"8 1/2"
"The Red Shoes"
"Broadcast News"
"Sweet Smell of Success"
"Breathless"
"Army of Shadows"
"M"

I feel guilty and disgusting, and happy at the same time...

Alas, according to their site, it's a "post-order" thing, and they won't. Sweet Smell of Success was ordered with a pre-order, Fear & Loathing, hence it shipping today. I made my order on the 17th, so according to their shipping FAQ, it's a post-order since it could have shipped last week had it not been for F&L. It sucks i paid 7.50 more, but it's still less than the 35.99 Canadian Amazon price.

It's like the old days on Amazon

KES is mine.

Those who don't own The Red Shoes no longer have an excuse (really, it's a steal).
