to each their own,but the other ones you mentioned are must haves, still amazing that that the prestine print of Passion of Joan of Arc was found in a janitor's closet of Oslo mental instution, stories like that are awesome IMO!

Hopefully the release of Design for Living will increase the likelihood of Trouble in Paradise getting an upgrade

You know something funny, you have to be the first person to comment on this film since it's artwork was posted. Going off of this forum or Criterion's facebook wall, I would of thought it never existed (or on Criterion's facebook wall, it was a "disappointing month" because something like Kubrick wasn't announced).

If something like Design for Living can get ignored, no wonder many obscure things won't sell and hasn't been released.

But back to the releases, I will be buying one from this month. Anybody care to guess?

I think we've all been pretty patient...I'm thinking of holding off on some other purchases and order City Lights and The Kid for now...maybe order The Circus and The Gold Rush at some point after that.

Too bad for me! No Chaplin for Christmas

Maybe I will have some better luck in 2012? Overall 2011 was not a bad years for Criterion releases but there was not as many as in 2010 I wanted to buy.

I ordered City Lights from the one seller that has it for retail price and they are the ONLY seller that has it for retail price.
the thing is I have never see the film, and have been waiting patiently for years now for a blu release.
I just can't deal anymore.
simple as that.
can't wait to see the Park Circus release!
sorry Criterion I just can't wait for you anymore.
Wow...I just noticed that...thanks Arkadin. Might as well place an order for all of them now and decide which ones to "keep" later.

Watched Secret Sunshine last night, which is a great film btw, and i'm not quite sure I agree with the labeling here on blu-ray.com as a Comedy/Drama/Romance. It's def Drama.

On another note. The Lady Vanishes upgrade. For me, it does not get any better than that. Now just bring on The Passion of Joan of Arc and Picnic at Hanging Rock upgrades and I will perfectly content.
If Park Circus has/had access to an HD transfer, then there is no reason why CC wouldn't have access to it either. Sorry...I think that this was a business decision and CC have decided that these titles can wait for now...

I think it's excellent, too. It's very very heavy but I think I'm ready for another viewing

All 4 titles are in the must own category. Great announcement. Never expected a Hitchcock film. It will be interesting to see how The Lady Vanishes comes out in HD. Although I have to agree with everyone else that I was expecting some Chaplin. I was also expecting to see Rashomon on Bluray this year. Not complaining after just getting High and Low.

I think the transfer is not the only thing that can delay a release, especially a criterion release, since they could be busy adding extras to the Chaplin releases, if that is what makes them take more time, then I can wait.

I don't know if there are any must owns but Branded to Kill and Tokyo Drifter seem like pretty strong 'eventually own' candidates.

(I'll probably break down and buy The Lady Vanishes at some point too. I really don't understand all the love it gets but Criterion + Hitchcock + BD + 50% off + a good coupon + Hitchcock -- I won't be able to resist that)
