I did a search in this thread for "replacement cases" and came up with 12 pages worth of answers for this most commonly asked question. That's just me, though.

Thanks. I got my DVD of it for free from Pepsi Points, but then I sold it for 14.00 back to Amazon. Now, I'm starting to regret.

I did too, but since there is over 3000 posts, I kind of wanted to ask if somebody knew off the top of their heads instead of taking an hour to find the specific one.

Hey guys, I've got a quick question for some of you fellow Criterion fanatics... specifically those who also have the Eclipse sets 4 and 5. (Raymond Bernard, and Sam Fuller)

Do your copies of these two sets have the same image on the spine of the outer slipcover box? I just noticed it the other day, and I thought it was extremely strange and am pretty sure it must be a misprint, but I just wanted to see if it was on all of them? Thanks for any responses.

The Fuller spine image shows a man embracing a woman from behind, the Bernard image is of a child.

One side of them is as you described on mine, but the other side of the spine has an identical picture of a soldier in a trench or something along those lines...

So you came up empty and found 3000 posts?

Default The reason why people come up with so many posts

The reason why people come up with so many posts regarding Criterion Blu-ray packaging on this thread is because there are tons and tons of posts regarding packaging, mainly from the twenty or so people that frequent this thread daily, either complaining or rejoicing in the intricacies of the packaging used by Criterion for a select few of their releases. Pardon them for not wanting to sift through 3,692 replies to find the information that this very thread is inviting them to ask. Was this meant to be an exclusive club?

3,692 replies to find it? The last one was 2 pages back. 2 pages.
I'm sure ccfixx alone has explained to posters the past 10 pages about the same thing. I'm sure someone can find the answer. Funny people keep saying they have to get through 3,000+ replies when it is asked and answered every page.

And I don't care about people keep asking it, since I never answer them anyway, I am just taking up for ccfixx who has answered this 1,000 times in the last week alone. He is the only one helping people and if someone can't find the last time it was asked, there was a pic posted of a broken record 2 pages back.

Re-posting the question is lazy, wanting attention with a direct answer, and lazy. That's it. Do people think other posters have more info than what was on the last page, really?

Did you search manually? or this?

Was just curious if you knew that function.

Maybe someone can help me,

I don't if this has been asked yet or not (too many words on the internet) but has Criterion said when they are going to exchange the cases? What's the scoop? Come on people sitting at home, you all must know something? ccfixx, do you know?

Hey Godard, I understand what you're doing here,
but I advise you to delete your posts, mods don't like this kind of behaviour.

There are 2 types of people on the internet, those who asks questions and those who read. Where do people who ask questions think the ones who have the answers got them from? READING.

Default for a first timer coming to this thread

How do they know how long these replacement cases have come to fruition? Should they check the first 1000 posts, or maybe somewhere in the middle? Beta Man mentioned on the intial post that this thread was specifically for these kinds of questions and these are the kinds of questions you are getting somewhat regularily. It's not like that information is readily available on Criterions website...which is surprising considering their clientele.

No one is forcing you to answer any of these questions, and the moderators seem to have no problem removing posts, so maybe these types questions would be better served if we let the moderators deal with these types of questions while the rest of us revel in Criterion glory.

I know ccfixx isn't a mod, but I trust him in this forum and when he is tired of a question that he has answered by himself alot of times in the past few days alone, then what?

good call fine sir,
let's keep this to new release discussion, or film discussion, or something, we shouldn't let our collecting get so out of hand that it's more important than the films we are buying...

Somewhat Criterion related... the upcoming release (11/17) of "sex, lies, and videotape" is quite interesting for a Sony release.

Some of the special features on the BD release are from the original Criterion LD release but what I found interesting is this section on the special features about the restoration of the film. Kind of reminds me of the Criterion releases (primarily what we read on the booklets) because typically, Sony Blu-rays don't really have an indepth explanation of the restoration process of a film (in this case, trying to capture the 1988 sound quality - more front channel, minimal surround and subwoofer channels). Also, during the commentary, Soderbergh and Neil LaBute talk about Eric Rohmer (for those who purchased the amazing "Six Moral Tales" box set from Criterion).

Anyway, for those of you who had the original Criterion LD of SLV and enjoyed the film might dig this BD release.

Maybe instead of "sleaves" which belong to shirts, he could have tried "sleeves," but since they're not sleeves but digipacks, that probably wouldn't have helped him either.
