I don't think a Criterion edition would feature another cut, but I'm sure there would be more a few more extras (and of more substantive content) than the lone half-hour long featurette that's on the Fox disc, plus a booklet with an essay or two at least.

And, as I said, I'm sure the main reason Criterion hasn't released the other two is reluctance from Warner, which isn't involved with The Tree of Life.,, |

A Christmas Tale was one of those films I just missed when it was out in theaters that year. I've always wanted to see it since. And House seems as if it would be a bizzare oddity of a film (in a good way ![]() |

As far as I know, the only Sony-controled titles Criterion has the rights to are those found in the America Lost and Found/BBS box. I really do wish there were more. Sony is definitely not at the forefront when it comes to releasing its catalog on blu.

After taking a look at The Music Room, it would really be nice if Criterion released some more of Satyajit Ray's work.
Or how about more Mira Nair? Salaam Bombay would be a terrific surprise. And I think it could be done as part of Criterion's ongoing relationship with MGM. I also would love to see Wild Strawberries on blu. |

All that I can wish for in the announcement is more Tati: Jour de fête (which has yet to have a R1 DVD release), M. Hulot's Holiday (which recently had a new restoration, which Janus toured a few years ago), or Mon Oncle (Janus screened the recently re-discovered of his "English" cut of the film, last year). In my opinion these are all long overdue.

Criterioncast posted some pics of the Kuroneko cover that I was talking about. I have a feeling the effect is much better in person, but even like this its still a pretty nifty idea.

I blind bought this as well and I thought it was fantastic. Favorite Criterion thus far. I don't think you will be disapointed.
