I hope it is true about FRENZY. One of Hitchcock's least appreciated films.

I like it, but it's not my favorite. What a weird world where Frenzy would be out before true classics like Vertigo and Rear Window.

Really liking the cover, don't know, to me it looks really good. Sure, the film is in B&W but to be honest I actually like how everything seems so apocalytpic from the box-art.

It would make sense Universal would loan out to Criterion something like FRENZY. They would never with REAR WINDOW, THE BIRDS or VERTIGO.

Frenzy would be a new Hitchcock title for them, no?

Setting the film itself aside that would be pretty huge.

It doesn't have to be Criterion who puts it out, but the Hitchcock movie I want released the most is The Trouble with Harry .

Of course, I'm just saying. I think if Hitch's output in the last decade of his life would've been stronger, Frenzy wouldn't seem like it's such an improvement. Maybe it's just the 70s London that dates it for me.

I'm still not sold on it, but I will say that I like it more now that I have seen a bigger image.

As much as they do not live up to his earlier films, I enjoy the films from his last decade. Marnie and Frenzy in particular. Family Plot is a delight.

I just rewatched Videodrome on Netflix and liked it enough to purchase. I'm curious why you'd single it out as bad, especially if you're open to stuff like House (which I also own).

If anything, Blow Out is the least memorable film of those three. Videodrome is so weird, campy, and unique. Can't wait for it to arrive so I can watch it again!

It is a bit strange they didn't include the original title on the cover..... but I guess, marketing-wise, it sort of makes sense

I, for the record, think Gojira is awesome and will be buying it from Criterion. I'm interested in what extras they may put into this release, and hope they put both versions on the disc.

I don't think Videodrome, House or Blow Out are particularly good movies but I don't have any quarrel with any of them being part of the collection either. In fact, I own them all and don't regret purchasing any of them.

I'm pretty sure I won't regret my inevitable Godzilla purchase either.
This. I think Salo is bad, but obviously it's of significant importance. I know House and Blow Out aren't exactly the pinnacle of cinema, but I still enjoy the hell out of them, and own both titles on BD as well.

That's why I said I was taking the piss out of you and just joking around. I also own bad movies on DVD. I own the godawful Splitting Heirs, and a cheesy Lifetime movie called Final Justice, which stars Annette O'Toole and Michael McKean. It's a terrible, terrible, film, but at the same time, it's utterly hilarious to watch, especially since they hate each other in the film, but are one of those nauseatingly cute married celebrity couples in real life.

I'd rank them

1. Blow Out
2. Videodrome
3. House

Cronenberg is for most people love him or hate him, I'm one of the few who really likes, but doesn't quite love him. He is a master at subtly providing his films with substance and relevance while at the core, the majority of his earlier work being of the body horror variety, that's what sets him apart from his fellow body horror directors to me, but I'm more into Psychological Horror than Body Horror and that's probably what keeps me from loving him, or at least his early work.
