It's an awesome film that doesn't get the respect it deserves. It is also a very nice blu-ray, despite the thin extras. The way that the suspence is implied in the car scene is awesome. One of my favorites.

Anyone ordered those at B&N.com lately have any feedback? I assume if I went with criterion.com it would be newer hard cases?
You know, I am in the same position. I hate I can't order those films from Amazon because I am never sure about getting the hard case package. I have never been able to find a good condition copy of the digibook in-store either .

I've been wondering about this myself, and have been holding off on Marienbad for this reason.

My local B&N sells 400 Blows (and even Chungking) in the new hard case. Marienbad and Last Metro (both I bought in this sale) have always been in the digipack case. I've seen people in the Trading Forum offer up those cases/booklets from time to time, especially around this time.

Can't help you, but I just wanted to add that I recently ordered Marienbad online from B&N. It came in the digipack with very minor damage. I didn't even think about the packaging when I ordered it.

Does anyone think I can order Last Year at Marienbad from Amazon and get a digibook in good conditions? I prefer by far the clear cases but if the package is in good enough shape I can do with it for some time while I order a replacement one .

I think the best way to get it undamaged or at least with minimal damage is to get it sent in a box by ordering more than 3 movies at once.

Amazon updated the page for World on a Wire and put the price back up to $27.99, but they haven't cancelled my order at $16.99 so we'll see what happens....

edit: this was covered last page...sorry guys.

That depends a lot on your definition of good, I think. Most of the single disc digipaks I've seen at B&N haven't been mangled but have been...I guess compressed is the best word...and my guess is Amazon stock isn't likely to be significantly different.

You could probably just order them from Criterion and mention that you want them in the hard plastic instead of the Digipack. From personal, and testimonial, experiences of their customer service, I don't see how this would be a problem for them.

I ended up buying EL NORTE in the old cardboard case; then bought the new plastic case on Criterion.com because I couldn't actually find it in the store. You may have to go that route.

You may laugh, but that's exactly what happened to me. Well, the sexual depravity part. sniff.

I'm cheap so I don't want to pay $5 for a case (plus I think it's 5 shipping on top of that?). $10 extra for a case means I would just stick with what I had if I had already purchased one of them. Basically I'm not OCD enough to want to replace it, but I'm OCD enough to want to "get it right" before I go ahead and buy

Eventually I would assume they would *ALL* be in hard case so long as they remain in print. I guess it just takes awhile for the inventory to refresh, i mean it's been YEARS now since these digi-packs were phased out, correct?

Looks kind of interesting but I know absolutely nothing about him/them.
Before your OT post gets buried octagon, I just wanted to offer my equally OT thanks for the tip!

And no, I've never heard of Di Leo either, but this set certainly does have me intrigued.

I ordered it when I saw the budget price. Seemed intriguing to me as well, so I figured why not for $25.

RaroVideo reportedly did a very decent job with the Clowns (with the blu-ray version, anyway), so if they can match that on a set of four films hopefully this company can gain a nice enough foothold in the US to bring over even more Italian films. I have no idea if these four are "important" films, i doubt they are in any particular way considering their emphasis on gratuitous violence as a selling point, but they sound fun enough to give the set a try considering it's budget price...

The problem is people don't read anymore. Things would have gone smoother for her if she'd just shown them a Criterion movie instead.

Looking to collect front cover (exterior front, back and spine) scans of all blu releases from criterion- can anyone help?

I'm adding a bathroom to my theater room downstairs and would like to 'paper' it with criterion covers. I have quite a few but a horrible scanner...

Can anyone help out? Again, need just the outside of the covers...
