Nope. The commentary paragraph was there. It was too close to the trailer info.

Well as someone said earlier, it would be appropriate if the two were paired as they're the films Kubrick apparently wanted no one to see after the fact so they'd be a perfect coupling.

Maybe this has already been mentioned but has anyone else noticed their local Best Buy carrying alot of Criterions lately? Mine used to have no more than 5 titles, then a month ago they started carrying about 15-20 of them on blu. Since then they've had every new release. I think they've got them priced at 29.99, which isn't great, but its better than BN. Add some RZ certs and you've got a decent enough deal. Im caught up til February with preorders, but if they keep this up I may grab a few in 2012 at Best Buy.

I wish they would sell the Blu-Ray separately though.
You could be blasphemous and buy the set, and sell off the other titles. Some people have done that and only kept The Last Picture Show and/or Easy Rider. The whole set's fantastic, except for A Safe place. I think it was thr best release of 2010.

I like a healthy dose of upgrades, too, especially since I don't want to spend over $20 for DVDs at this point.

I wonder if they're trying to find ways to hint/announce that give their web server some breathing room. Everyone on Criterion's Facebook page seems to make a sport out of sitting on the Criterion site hitting F5 all day every 15th of the month and Criterion have had some site issues because of it. Or else they're just freshening things up.

I'm pretty ambivalent about it. It's nice to have them all named and see the covers on the 15th, but if they want to leak titles leading up to then I don't really care.

I know The Last Temptation of Christ is a fairly major release but so far it seems like March is lacking a home run title. As someone else commented a few days ago, that's fine because I could use an off-month to catch up a bit.
This. I haven't been too interested in March so far myself, maybe I'll be able to drop my wishlist down some more, as it's sitting at about 17 titles for the first tier, and 16 for the titles I need to preview first and/or will pick up on sale or once I buy what's on the first tier.

Yeah, this was supposedly slated for this year, and clearly, that didn't happen. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed (especially having seen many lackluster screenshots from Universal's BD offering), but it would be nice to have some confirmation. This is one of the few Fincher films that's really slipped through the cracks, it seems. A shame, since I've always enjoyed it.

Agreed. I love the BBS set. A Safe Place is definitely the weak link, but its inclusion for completion's sake is fine. But the rest of the films are great, and presented with great transfers and audio. I can't even begin to articulate how much I enjoyed watching Head in 1080p.

Are you trying to suck up to me or something with the Head comment?

I think I'm watching A Safe Place just out of spite now, I'm honestly trying to make myself find something redeemable out of it. I've tried to watch it twice, and the second time was only slightly less painful than the first. Even Drive, He Said, which is also a rather lacklustre film, has some redeeming qualities in it. A Safe Place is just being artsy for the sake of being artsy, and is boring as hell. Even Orson Welles can't save it.

Once I clear up my PVRs and such, I was going to start watching every Criterion I own in Spine number order, which means I'll be tackling A Safe Place for a third time. I think that will be more times I've watched that film than everyone who owns the BBS box set combined has.

I still think the set is a must own, despite A Safe Place (and to a certain extent Drive, He Said), as the rest of the films are fantastic, and Criterion did a heck of a job compiling the set and restoring the films.

Oh! I forgot to add that I caught Fear and Desire on TCM last night (Sorry Criminal Minds, Kubrick's rarer film is more important than you for a change), and can understand why Kubrick is disappointed in it, as it is a bit clumsy. However, it's still an interesting little curio, and people should watch it.

I'm risking a B&N order. I got a 50% off coupon for their mystery coupon e-mail they just sent out this morning. I forgot to use ebates, but at this point, I don't care, I ordered Branded to Kill.

If you use ebates do they still send you 20 Double the Points emails a week?

WHY DON'T THEY SEND ME COUPONS

Don't feel bad, they don't send me the emails to my email account I use for my B&N account. I used my other primary email address as an attempt to get the B&N emails. I didn't think it would work, but apparently it has.

Before, I was using the coupons they sent my mom, who never buys anything from them, but registered her Nook.

Now I use the coupons I get from my other email address, and give my mom's coupons to my friend, who isn't getting emails from them either, despite placing several orders as well.

My friend and I don't always use the coupons, but this one was too good to pass up, as Branded to Kill ended up being 16.64 before shipping was put on. It's still 35.99 at Amazon.com, and 41.49 at Amazon.ca. One less item off my wishlist. I went with it because people said it was the better off the two, and it's closer to the top of my first tier wishlist. The others I really want are probably going to be bought after Christmas if I get Amazon giftcards.

now we wait for people to come in and attack me for using a coupon because I was against the misuse of coupons during the sale, and therefore they all assumed I was a coupon nazi and against all coupons in general

Yes, yes they do. It's annoying as hell. I was too excited about a 50% off coupon that I totally forgot to use them. They don't always do the rebates on items either, as I did an order at Chapters, and never got any cash back for it. They also don't do cash back on gift card redemptions, applied taxes, or any shipping applied to the items. FWIW, I've only accumulated 21 dollars cash back so far. I'll at least get 1% cash back from Visa for this purchase though.

I've wanted A Night to Remember for a while. It's one of the oldest DVD titles that they haven't upgraded yet.
