And what is the TCM app like? I'm not familiar with it! I dont' get 4G or 3G or anything in my office at school so I can't download it now.
Google XDA developers as I think someone has rooted the kindles on there. I use that for all my nook rooting goodness. Nook is fine, except Netflix currently doesn't work with ICS, gingerbread only.

The TCM app has video clips, essays, schedules, photos and other fun things. Haven't used it in awhile since I no longer get TCM.

I love the iPods. I'm getting mad at apple because I Want to know when the new Nano is coming out and all they can say is October. Bah, I want to buy their product but they're obviously more concerned with the stupid iPhone. I liked the iPhone when I first got it, but it's become more problematic the older it gets. Apple doesn't support the older stuff as much as the new stuff as you know.

Thanks for your opinion, it may be long overdue but I am getting into French New Wave and from what you said Breathless would seem a logical follow-on from The 400 blows.
I saw Godard's Week End at a local independent cinema recently, and was blown away by it. But I have become a fan of Godard's eccentricities, and like his movies for their odd qualities, not in spite of them. I first saw Pierrot le fou and Breathless, and didn't quite know what to make of them at first, but began to really enjoy them on repeat viewings and am now interested in pretty much anything the man puts out.

Week End is scathing, biting, vicious. To the characters in the film, to filmmaking, to society. The motivations for the characters are greedy and self-serving. Everyone they encounter is equally vacuous, save two - and these two are set on fire and left to die. Wrecked, burning cars with bloody corpses spilling out of them fill nearly every scene of the movie. Rape is a casual inconvenience one character allows the other to be subjected to out of not even spite, but indifference. It's disturbing, and yet still somehow not just thought-provoking but also funny. Like, laughing out loud at parts. It's all Godard's new wave styles and ideas taken to their most extreme before he washed his hands of the whole thing, and I've really never seen anything like it before.

Yes, that is unfortunate, however, I don't know many manufacturers that support older devices. I felt bad for people who bought the HP tablet a few years back.

I'm interested in the new iPod Touch, but was hoping for a larger amount of storage. Yes, 64GB is too small. But I love the design.

That HP tablet has been hacked to run Android.

I just want a new Nano as my current one has a schizophrenic battery. I've had it for 3 years, but it's the 2008 model.

16GB is fine for me, even thought I have 500GB give or take, of music. Vinyl rips of OOP stuff FTW!

I'm going to PM you...to keep this thread off topic is a travesty, and, of course, out of respect for others...

Don't open The Blob just yet. There was a blurb a few weeks ago from somebody who said they're working on the booklet for the BD release.

I don't know how 'official' that was and no release date has been announced but if you're the patient type you might want to send that one back.

Is Criterion planning on releasing it in Blu-Ray?

Have I missed a post somewhere or have we really gone almost 48 hours without anybody commenting on the December covers?

I find that a little...unsettling.

Does anyone know if Brazil and Heavens Gate will be in cases like Seven Samurai/Night Of The Hunter or like The Samurai Trilogy came in?

Heaven's Gate is a single disc so that will definitely get a plastic case.

Brazil is two discs which (I think) can go either way these days.

Heaven's Gate is not a single. It's a double disc

Were you distracted by the beauty of Alain Delon on the cover of Purple Noon?

If I had to get distracted by a guy I could do a lot worse.

(that cover doesn't really do him justice though)

May i ask something:
Is Criterion planning to upgrade all its DVD releases to Bluray? Has anything been said about it anytime?
Because I'm looking forward for Ivory's Maurice in Bluray.

That's never going to happen and here's why:

Most of the time, Criterion's upgrades from DVD to Blu-ray happen as a result of another studio striking an HD master and Criterion then licensing it.

They're not specifically upgrading everything in their back catalog.
