I've sent them 2 emails, but haven't responded for over a month now..
So I guess I'm going to sell them. I am not interested in any of them except one, but even that, not so much to keep it..
Talk about luck, eh?
Barnes and Nobel is notorious for screwing shipping up. I have had similar things happen to me in the past.

I feel bad for the guy that will never get his order and probably wont know what became of it.

B&N did something similar to me recently.
They sent an order of 5 blu's which I cancelled, received the emails and it was displayed in my order history as cancelled.

There are a ton of Barnes & Noble physical locations around Atlanta, so I never order anything from them through the mail. During the 50% off sales, I simply check the "Pick Up In Store" availabilities of movies that I want.

After reading about the misadventures of those who have ordered from them on this forum, I will continue my practice of frequenting the physical locations.

Why don't you just take them to your local B&N store and ask for a gift card for all your trouble?

I hope you mean having open conversations and debate as opposed to somebody spelling it out as you nod your head in agreement. I like letting the film sit a while before I try to pick apart each detail. Hopefully allowing what i have just seen take root. Many a time I will be casually going about my business while a revalation comes to me that I would have been robbed if I scoured the web looking for answers.

So, how do you personally interpret the two acts of Mulholland Drive?

Rented Quadrophenia tonight. It's alright. Not much of a plot imo, so it's not the type of film I'd regularly watch and enjoy.

It's great! Abd Probably one of my favorite youth films. I was just blown away by the harshness an veracity of the first act, the absolutely amazing and emotionally potent riots that follow and the killer music. It's certainly not a romp or a hugely entertaining film, but it's probably the most accurate depiction of restless youth; so much so that it was quite painful and too much to take at times. It's one of my favorite CC releases of 2012. (cough, cough, its much better than The Hobbit and TDKR, cough, cough)

Just want to say I love your avatar. I assume it's Jennifer Connelly. Back in the 80s and 90s when she was younger and had about 20 pounds more on her, she was drop-dead gorgeous on screen. Maybe at the time the best looking actress of our generation.

Besides the fact that the soundtrack sounds PHENOMINAL in an HD-5.1 mix!

Does anyone have any insight as to how successful Criterion is as a company? Is it expanding more and more every day? Hopefully the fact they're putting out so many movies per month (and older ones to boot) is a good sign there are enough people like us all over the world who are purchasing their stuff. I don't wanna see the company ever go under, as it could be one of the greatest, if not the greatest, classic film preservation tools in the world.

Nanook of the North / The Wedding of Palo (and Other Films of Arctic Life) Blu-ray due on February 26. Not from Criterion though, but Flicker Alley.

Which makes me hope that the building from the 2013 New Years drawings is hinting at The Tenant.

I'd like to eventually see a Criterion upgrade of Knife In The Water, a Criterion release of The Pianist, and a regular Blu-ray put out of Death And The Maiden.

Still waiting on Weekend and a couple other Godards I ordered from B&N back in November. Starting to get a little worried, especially since I ordered Three Colors two weeks ago and it has already shown.
I'm still waiting on Week End, Battle of Algiers, and Purple Noon. The first two shipped on the 27th and 28th of November, while Purple Noon shipped the 14th of December. Rashomon took about 5 weeks to show up, which is 1.5 weeks longer than normal for B&N orders shipping to Central NS. I cancelled Brazil and ordered it from Amazon, and it's showing up on Monday with The Doctor, Amy, Rory, Amy's ganger, River, and some Daleks.

It's....A BUILDING.
If a character jumped out of a window, that would be a clue.
I see a building as just one way of piling the clues together.

All the wishful-thinking "Fit facts to fit the theory" guesses are starting to remind me of that old joke about the guy who goes to see the psychiatrist:
[Show spoiler]The doctor tries picture association and shows him a straight line, and the guy says "A naked woman lying down". An X, "A naked woman doing exercises", two wavy lines, "A hot naked 69!", and so on. Finally the doctor asks him whether he might have a sex obsession, and the guy replies, "MY obsession? Who's drawing the dirty pictures??"

It's a little hard not to think back on old-joke punchlines when we hear "Uh, a building!--The Game had a building in it!...Look, there's leaves! There were some leaves in The Game! "

(Although it took me a while to see that the leaves and the notes all floating around in the air were supposed to be Autumn SONATA.....D'oh. Now that's a clue. )
