I have never seen Sleeper either, but I used to drive by the house all of the time. Maybe it is time I finally get around to watching it...

You could always try eBay. Sell them in bundles, perhaps.
I usually end up giving DVDs away to friends and family - they seem to have more value that way.
Let us know how you go...
I've recently sold over 100 of my DVDs at a used store down the street, because I can occasionally get up to four or five dollars for highly-sought-after movies. This is how I've financed a lot of my maniacal Blu-ray purchasing spree over the past couple of months, because most of my Blu-rays have been used purchases from the same store. So far, the DVDs that I've sold have all been movies that I've upgraded to Blu-ray or intent to upgrade at some point.

This is winding down, because most of the DVDs that I have left are the Criterion DVDs and movies that are not currently available as Blu-rays. Over time, though, my DVD collection will gradually continue to shrink as my Blu-ray collection continues to grow.

Good news. The Léon Morin, Priest Blu-ray arrived at my doorstep last night, by way of a third-party Amazon seller that had it for $18. Since I already have Army of Shadows and Le Cercle Rouge in the format, my collection of Jean-Pierre Melville Criterion Blu-rays is complete until Criterion releases more of his films. I have DVDs of all the other Melville Criterions (as well as a non-Criterion copy of Un Flic).

I owned Léon Morin, Priest on DVD before selling it recently at the used store down the street in anticipation of the Blu purchase. I did not warm up to this movie as much as Melville's other films, but I found the discussions on religion in the film to be fascinating on a cerebral level, and had the sense that this movie will really shine with subsequent viewings. I am looking forward to revisiting this one over and over in the future. It's a trip to see Belmondo playing a different sort of role.

FYI: my local Best Buy is carrying The Man Who Knew too Much. The website, which is the same in-store, or tell them to match it, will be $24.99. They also have that $5 off for trading in some old DVD. $20 is not a bad price if your store carries it....

When something like this happened to me in the past (a long time ago) I sent them an email, just to let them know and not asking for anything, and they ended up giving me a $5 gift card. Good customer service is always a pleasant surprise.
Well...guess it depends on the phase of the moon and the "customer rep." that you are stuck with. I got the usual spiel and no renumeration or giftcard. Oh well...not surprised...it was worth a try.

[Show spoiler]Hello,

I understand your concern regarding the delivery of your order #110-3124489-8917857 for "The Man Who Knew Too Much (Criterion Collection) ".

I've checked your order for "The Man Who Knew Too Much (Criterion Collection) " and verified that you chose the Release-Date Delivery option; your Estimated Delivery Date is Tuesday, January 15.

Please be assured some carriers make deliveries to residential addresses as late as 7:00 p.m., so please allow sufficient time for delivery.

When we offer an item for Release-Date Delivery, we need to be extra careful in working with our shippers to honor the release date restrictions specified by the product vendors. Sometimes this requires us to process orders outside of our normal procedures, which may result in less detailed tracking information displayed in Your Account.

Carriers also tend to only update tracking information once daily, and orders are often already scheduled for delivery by the time tracking information becomes available.

I appreciate your feedback. I'll be sure to pass your feedback along to the appropriate department. I know they'll want to hear about this.

Your comments and suggestions will help us improve our store and offer better service to our customers.

We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Thank you for your inquiry. Did I solve your problem?

I took five DVDs to Best Buy the other day and the managers at the Customer Service Desk had no idea how to ring up the Upgrade & Save deal, so they simply gave me a $25 credit. I even specifically asked if I was supposed to use the $25 over five different store visits, but one manager told me that I could just use it all at once. I used it while buying the 12 Angry Men Blu-ray.

As much as I'd like to buy The Man Who Knew Too Much this week, I'm going to hold off on that movie for a while and make sure that I have enough cash to buy Ivan's Childhood sometime next week.

Yes.

The initial coupons that you get can also be accessed from here:

As far as getting other coupons that you're entitled to, good luck with that. Hardly anyone gets coupons

Thx. Not too impressed with $8 off a $40 bluray though.

You have to wait for sales. That's the only way to get them at a reasonable price - when they're $8 off of a 50% off Criterion.

I'm sure Devil's Backbone will be later, so it will get the spine number 666.

If I remember correctly, I got my email two or three weeks after buying the membership. I did not use all of the coupons, but a handful were great for Christmas time purchases.

I rocked out the "Buy Two, Get One Free" current sale a few days ago. Not a bad deal at all with Blu-rays.
