Hah, at first I thought you were saying Zoo instead of Z00. Zoo is the name of the documentary about the guy in Washington who died from having sex with a horse. Really disturbing documentary.

Only one IFC in my predictions, and these are all titles heavily rumored to be released soon, although Criterion usually has a surprise title every month.

Ah yes, I forgot about Chaplin.
Maybe Criterion can release a Chaplin film instead of my other guesses, Antichrist or Thin Red Line. I just put them on there because I couldn't piece together 5 new releases. I also think it's too early for those films to be announced.

I've had my ear to the ground for a North American friendly Antichrist release for some time now, so this hint is a very good step in the right direction in my books. I'll definitely get The Thin Red Line as well. I have been itching to see more Malick after The New World and Days of Heaven; I really enjoyed both.

I would think the Chaplins will be released as a set.

Can we assume the titles in the Remasters section on that criterionforum page would be coming to blu also?
If so, I really hope we see Les Diaboliques soon.

I wonder if we'll soon see another choice from the amazon pick the next blu-ray thing.

The only exception I can think of is the Edvard Munch SE, which was done by someone else for N'Yer (NTSC) and MoC/Eureka! (PAL). That transfer was great considering the nature of the film elements.

The saving grace is that Kino has stepped up to the plate for HD, creating some great BD releases, so hopefully, this will encourage N'Yer to render things properly.
That's a pretty spot on assessment of New Yorker, unfortunately

I assume you're talking about 'The Cook the Thief His Wife & Her Lover? Just FYI there is a perfectly serviceable R2 dvd from Universal UK still available. I picked it up about 6 months ago. Amazon.co.uk currently has it for £3.97

Awesome, that one has slipped past my radar somehow. I will definitely be including that in my next UK order. Thanks for the heads up.

Yeah, from what I had read the transfer is basically on par with if not slightly better than the OOP Anchor Bay. Don't expect to be dazzled, but it's anamorphic and gets the job done.

3 of my favourites, these are. He attended my local cinematheque alongside with an early showing of Nightwatching a few years ago. An absolute pleasure, although, I have to say, he can definetly come off as somewhat pretentious to some. I saw several people leaving his Q&A shaking their head. That screams of a sucsessfull Q&A to me, though.

But, if your able to play R2 DVD's, "The Cook..." is still avaliable from the usual etailers.

It's interesting how "Summer Hours" has stayed with me and in my mind. Days after watching it, there was something about the film that I wasn't sure what it was but then it finally hit me.

For those who enjoy films by Jean Renoir, Agnes Varda and Eric Rohmer, I know that Assayas drew inspiration from Renoir but it's that balance between the utilization of the setting, the art in conjunction with the storytelling. The film is well-acted and at the same time, absolutely beautiful to look at.

The Blu-ray has not yet been released but I look forward to hearing your thoughts about the film. Especially the transition to the final arc of film's storyline.

Too many to do that, IMO. They have all the MK2 distributed titles, which are:

The Kid
A Woman of Paris
The Gold Rush
The Circus
City Lights
Modern Times
The Great Dictator
Monsieur Verdoux
Limelight
A King in New York

Plus a number of short films and the feature compilation, The Chaplin Revue. Not to mention alternate cuts of many of these films. I think they're more likely to treat them like other filmmakers that they have a ton of films for, such as Kurosawa, Bergman or Godard, and release them individually, perhaps in pairs from time to time.

MK2 released them as 2 sets. So its possible, I guess. I dont think people would pay $29.99 or $39.99 for one 50 minute Chaplin film. So they will most likely be packaged together in some aspect.

I thought you might like that, CG. It's an awesome poster for sure. My copy of the movie was delivered to my house today, so I can't wait to get home and watch it at my earliest convenience.

Criterion posted a screen shot of what I believe is House via their Twitter. I'm on my phone while driving on the interstate right now, so I can't really post a link.

Yeah, I just saw that picture posted over at criterionforum.org, and that's definitely "Hausu." I skipped the MOC release 'cause we all knew Criterion was gonna be releasing stateside sooner or later. I can't wait 'til May, either, when I'll actually get to see the film in a theater.
