I have difficulty saying any film (that I've seen) is the best movie ever made. However, I can confidently say that Seven Samurai is one of the best movies ever made - a list that potentially includes a few thousand films (with the other several hundred thousand or more films not qualifying). Even in that context Seven Samurai is in rare company.

Thin Red Line looks good but Criterion doesn't list full credits on their front covers, also the date listing and criterion listing is messy (DAR LIM) and Antichrist looks kind of cool but something seems to saturated on the reds ofthe criterion listing etc for it to be real.I could be wrong. If the THIN RED isn't Offical the person who did it, did a nice job, then again it seems very close to the older cover art also.

They also know who Godard is more often than not. Doesn't mean they've actually seen any Kurosawa or Godard films outside of Seven Samurai, Yojimbo and Breathless, but I digress....

do people really take the amazon pre-order thing seriously? because there are other titles if you just 'search' for 'Criterion Blu-Ray' such as Gentlemen's Agreement,
Nights of Cabiria, Hamlet (Olivier), Bicycle Thieves, etc. http://www.amazon.com/s/qid=12730952...7547011&page=7 |
