I would like to see more Fellini on BLU... Juliet of the Spirits would look great in HD.

I'm right on schedule today. This is usually the point at which I start grumbling 'wtf, let's get on with it already, I've got better things to do than sit around and hit F5 all day'.

If I stay on schedule I should be sighing and realizing I in fact don't have anything better to do in five...four...three...

Does the update appear on Criterion's website?

You could always catch a great band at the 'ol Fireside Bowl...if the place hasn't burned down yet? Haven't been there since the late 90's.

Refn's Pusher Trilogy
A Lynch box with Lost Highway, Mulholland Drive, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me
A Cronenberg box with Dead Ringers, Crash, The Brood

There's no way this is too much to ask

But if it is I'll take Crash, Mulholland Drive and Dead Ringers. Beggars can't be choosers.

Edit: And if I really have to choose only one, Crash please.

Sorry, dude. Crash and Dead Ringers are with WB, so unless Cronenberg outright begs to them, like Malick did with Badlands, this won't happen.

I picked up these four Criterion's today:

Vivre Sa Vie
Weekend (Godard)
Breathless
Frances Ha

All four were blind buys. Which one would you guys recommend watching first?

Take out Fire Walk With Me (which I love but is rumored to be included in the upcoming Twin Peaks Blu-ray box set) and replace it with Inland Empire, and that's the Lynch box I'd love from Criterion. Lynch's "L.A. Trilogy" from Criterion would be so freakin' beautiful.

Not sure how familiar you are with Godard's work, but Vivre Sa Vie is a safe bet.

I've never seen a Godard film so I'm not familiar at all.

I'd say watch the Godard films in order. It's interesting to see how he evolves. Frances Ha is inspired by the French New Wave, so I'd actually recommend having some early Godard and Truffaut (especially Jules and Jim) under your belt before seeing it, but it's certainly not necessary. Just recommended.

EDIT: By the same token, if you don't have any French New Wave experience and end up loving Frances Ha, then you may find it very rewarding to check out some of the French New Wave films that inspired it (if you haven't already seen them).

you won't find too much love for Godard in this neck of the woods. Frances Ha? ehhh.. I was wrong in thinking it was a story about a wannabe socialite. its the story of an idiot.
