I've brought this up in the past, myself. Others probably have, as well. It's definitely a film that would fit right in, and I can only imagine the extras Criterion could compile for it...or how incredible the audio would be.

That's my boy.

By the by, I meant to say in my reply to your post that there is at least one Borzage title on Blu-ray in the US: Kino's edition of A Farewell to Arms, available individually or as part of their Selznick Collection set.

You can find mine at criterion.com. From the front page, just click on "Films" at the top, and under "Popular Search Starters" click on "All Films".

I'm just waiting on a winning PowerBall ticket.

I watched Kicking and Screaming two nights ago and I absolutely loved it. I actually like that movie now more than Frances Ha. It's a fantastic film and I'm so glad I took a chance on a blind-buy with this one.

I'd say go for:
Videodrome
Scanners
The Life Aquatic
Repo Man
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Dazed and Confused
The Blob

and add Eating Raoul to the list. For long OOP titles, go for Silence of the Lambs and RoboCop.

Long story short I ordered them (while on sale) a couple/three years back, but this was in the midst of amazon.fr's problems with shipping things out and then getting returned to them immediately as having bad addresses, so in the end I never got them. (I've since ordered once or twice from there and had no problems, same address.)

Thought about trying again earlier this week, but decided to spare my wallet some more pain by just going with the couple of titles I was most interested in instead (
Les Parapluies de Cherbourg is finally on its way!).
Checked out the Borzage on amazon.fr, and all three look like region 2. Is there another seller that carries a region-free version? (Yeah, I know I could get an all-region player, but.....)

Will do. Les demoiselles de Rochefort blu was a blind buy a couple years back (great blu by the way), my first Demy (aside from catching a few minutes of Cherbourg on tv perhaps), and since have seen them all courtesy of the French dvd box set. Been wanting Rochefort on blu ever since.

They're all region free.

dvdbeaver has reviews of Street Angel, Lucky Star, and 7th Heaven.

(I wasn't region free when I tried to get them a couple years ago. Think I'll have to try and order them again early next year.)
