The one and only time I mailed something to Canada, it ended up costing me almost $60 in international shipping. I messaged the guy asking nicely if he would help me cover half of it and after receiving the package, he did (luckily).

I'm sure weight is the main factor taken into account, but I don't really like spending a lot of extra money, nor do I want others to spend a large sum on shipping.

Shipping to the great white north used to be more reasonable. Sad that it's not anymore.

A bubble mailer is all I used and trimmed it down to the bare minimum so it fitted the lowest cost dimensions. If you start boxing up items then it will be $$$ as it will ship as a parcel, not mail.

Not sure how many this box would fit but $20 for the service is not too bad

I watched Hearts and Minds earlier tonight via Hulu Plus and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by it.

Most documentaries, in my opinion, water down the true horrors that lie behind such issues as war, but this one offered one of the most realistic takes ever on it. There is a lot of raw footage of live executions, footage from the battlefields, and more, just to name a few.

The only thing that I wish the documentary did was cover more details about the actual war's background instead of only the conflicting opinions on what is just and unjust in regard to human life and the necessity of going to Vietnam in the first place. I understand that this is a key discussion for the war, but a little more light on why the actual war began, statistics, and more, would have been a much more complete package, in my opinion.

Overall, I am glad that I did not blind buy this film because I do not see much replay value in documentaries, especially relating to such dark, but unfortunately, real subjects as war.

I've just finished watching The Pawnbroker. Rod Steiger Really need to check out more of his films (not Jaws) from the Collection.

I read that you can get around that by using a US anchored pre-paid debit card.

The Pawnbroker is such a powerful movie. It's one of the saddest films in my collection, but it's also an oddly beautiful movie in terms of visuals and film style. The Quincy Jones score is marvelous, and it really captures the immediacy of 1960s New York. The way that The Pawnbroker combines one man's crushing emotional isolation with the exciting hustle-and-bustle of city life is my favorite aspect of the film.

I look into that after asking here months ago. The pre-paid card was something like $50, a lot to shell out for a trial period.

You can get a few months for that as well, even if it saves you from shelling out $$ for 2 blind buys that you check out beforehand, it's paid for itself without question.

That could be of benefit to some but I'm the kind of person who checks out a film before purchasing. Not watching but reading up, reviews etc.

It doesn't have to be anywhere near that expensive, and it's dead simple to set up - you can even use a Canadian credit card. Total cost would be Hulu's fee, plus $5 for a service like unblockus.

Easy peasy

Edit to add: you can even skip unblockus and use the mediahint extension on Firefox to watch on your computer.
