Thank you for the info.

Could you PM-me the exact specs for each disc so that I could update the database? This would be of great help for the community.

Thank you again.

I ordered a replacement Criterion case for "The Last Metro last Friday. For those considering purchasing a replacement case for one of the eligible movies, Criterion is out of stock right now.

"Thank you for your replacement case order!

Please note that we are out of stock on all cases and expect more to arrive within the next two weeks. As soon as we receive more cases, we will ship them out through First Class/Priority USPS Postal Service, so you should expect to receive your order within 3-5 weeks from now. You will receive a confirmation e-mail when your order ships.

Please let me know if you have any more questions and thank you for supporting Criterion!

Cheers,

Giles
The Criterion Collection"

I wish but the only new news in regards to Agnes Varda is that she teamed up with mubi.com to stream her films online.

Possibly not from Criterion but I do hope that Flicker Alley or Kino considers it. But the problem is that the Melies, Gaumont, Edison or anything released in the 1897-1900's are going to be hit and miss.

But anyway, back to Melies...definitely give Flicker Alley releases a chance. They're somewhat the new guys in the block but they have put out some solid releases and reviews have been quite positive. I hope they do consider Blu-ray in the near future.

I was watching an 1897-1900 Alice Guy-Blaché film and film historians would love it...but typical viewers...I just don't see it happening.

Now, I do hope for a Maya Deren Criterion Eclipse series. Her "Experimental Films" went out of print and have skyrocked in price in the past few months. Glad I bought it in January.

Yeah, they were...but I think that your best bet is to take advantage of periodic sales. There is talk that B&N will be having their B2G1 sale soon and I wouldn't be surprised if the next B&N 50% off sale happens in July (if they are going to do a repeat of last year...July/November). Amazon is due for another Criterion sale soon, not sure about Deep Discount since they had their sale at the beginning of the year.

Go get them.

If you want the missing booklet all you have you to do is contact the good folks at Criterion and they'll mail it to you for free.

I know that this is currently not a Criterion release...but hopefully it will be in the very near future. I also realize that this is currently a Region B (locked) British release...BUT...I'm surprised not to find any threads on the Park Circus release of Charlie Chaplin's "The Kid".

Has anyone had a chance to see this yet? The reviewer had some issues with contrast being boosted and edge enhancement (especially on outdoor shots).

I've got ALL of the MK2 movie releases, as well as the superb Mutual shorts that Image released on DVD.

SIGH! I know that CG, in addition to a lot of the rest of us are waiting for the Chaplin films to show up on BD.

Any ideas as to a time line?

Like McCrutchy said... there is a thread for "The Kid," but since it's a Region B release you'll find it over in the United Kingdom section of the European section. Makes sense, right?
