This is a pretty awesome month.

I'm thrilled about The Vanishing. Can't freaking wait (well, I can wait until November but you know what I mean)

My Darling Clementine and F for Fake aren't 'omg' level autobuys but they're definitely on the 'will eventually purchase' short list.

And while the Tati set and La Dolce Vita don't exactly blow my personal skirts up there's disputing those are two very big announcements.

I guess The Brood is just too obvious for a Halloween release. Here's hoping we'll get it sometime in the winter, which is probably a better time for it anyway with it being set in that season. Tonally, it's a very cold film too.

The Vanishing has enough chills for all of October. Trust me on this. It's one of the finest thrillers of all time.

La Dolce Vita, I really wanted a full commentary track not just a visual essay. While nice to have they rank up there with "selected" scene commentary tracks. The right people would have plenty to discuss with this film for the whole running time.

I never guessed F for Fake would hit BLU before some of my wish titles like Antonio Gaudi.

I will most Octobers with Criterion never really pony up on the horror titles. Kind of odd this year considering Carnival of Souls was hinted at forever ago.

I'm not bashing the releases I will for sure buy them all even F is For Fake (50% of title for sure) it isn't something that gets a lot of replay value but it does give me hope for lesser selling titles I wish wee on BLU upgrades. :-)

The Vanishing is pretty great. I wasn't blown away when I first saw it but the ending is as memorable as it gets IMO.

Sort of. They haven't given up on (relatively) barebones releases but they do seem to have given up on charging less for them
