I'd concur with this assessment...though I have not seen House yet, I can't imagine beginning or ending with Antichrist () and Eraserhead just seems like a perfect entry way for the other two. On that note, I've just requested House from my local library

You're right, that price doesn't seem to drop. I got it when it first came out for $24. Occasionally Barnes has dropped it a bit and when combined with 15% off coupons (even sweeter if you're a member to utilize a 20% off and 10% off member discount), it can be had for about that price as well. But again, Barnes's prices can fluctuate randomly sometimes.
But I highly recommend it! It is one of my favorite 3D films I gotta say!

I just finished watching my first Mario Bava film, Black Sunday, and I am blown away.

Barbara Steele is gorgeous in Federico Fellini's 8½, and, in fact, she's the most beautiful woman in that film, but she is even more striking in this Bava film. If you are a fan of Steele in that Fellini film, then you may want to run, not walk, to this horror film.

Just watched Hausu or House (1977)

.......


Kung Fu was way cool. And despite the fact that I laughed throughout a lot of this film, I actually thought it had something thematically interesting to say.

My favorite part was

[Show spoiler] when Kung Fu's severed leg managed to work it's way back from the lamp shade to give that cat one last, triumphant kick to the face. It was such a YES! moment and I lol'd. And did that guy turn into ****ing bannans? What?

Something tells me that a good deal of my friends would hate this movie, but this is the perfect film to watch with people who prefer intellectual artsy films, but want something to laugh at. And the soundtrack was very goblin-esqe. I'm jamming to it right now

I still need to dig into Bava's work. I've only seen two of his films, and that was awhile ago, maybe 5-6 years now. I've been itching to get some of his movies that Kino put out on Blu-ray. I would recommend to you Black Sabbath (1963), which is the one I first want to upgrade to HD. Three solidly atmospheric and/or suspenseful tales in one, Boris Karloff, and the beautiful Michèle Mercier, what's not to like? I suggest avoiding the site review or google images or any sort of trailers, the fantasticly scary makeup in one segment is spoiled.

Truly, one of the greats among movies that are weirder than s&#t and make absolutely no sense. It's become a cornerstone in my collection, right next to Tetsuo: The Iron Man and Tokyo Gore Police. Among others.

It is more than worth it. You pay $7.99 a month to watch unlimited movies and television shows, not just restricted to The Criterion Collection.

That being said, The Criterion Collection's Hulu Page has numerous amounts of films, including those only available on DVD and some that are not even available on any home video format.

I've been using it a lot more lately in order to watch and rewatch films that have been announced for a Blu-ray release. If I end up disliking it, I can save myself almost $30 per movie. Very convenient!

Agree on Black Sabbath. The story with Karloff has a classic eerie scene/moment that has stayed with me since I first saw it many years ago.

They have 300 films that haven't yet been released by them on there -- most haven't been released in the U.S. -- some even in HD. Most of their foreign DVD/BD catalog is on there, less so English language films. Since you can binge on as many movies as you want for $8, it's a great way to watch films you're hesitant to blind buy and experiment. A terrific deal, especially if you're a foreign film fan. You can gorge on movies for a couple of months, take a break and then sign up again for another couple.

I don't know why somebody would need to be convinced that 7.99 for unlimited movies and tv shows is a good deal. It's an amazing deal!
