Great group of titles this month. I'm particularly excited for the Errol Morris and the Hoop Dreams upgrade. I love Noir, but hadn't heard of Ride The Pink Horse until the last newsletter clue. Stoked for more Truffaut, but I wish it was Two English Girls, one of my most wanted Criterion titles.

I am interested in Cloe-Up, but I am almost 100% certain Koyaanisqatsi is not for me at all. It sounds like a torturous endurance test of tedium.

I wish they would license more PD titles that are considered classics even if it doesnt have a *name* director. I would love Criterion releases for movies like the original DOA, Detour, Too Late for Tears, Eyes in the Night, Fear in the Night, The Bat Whispers, Raw Deal. Even more movies in the Fiend Without A Face realm, something like The Flying Serpent..
Maybe the film elements for these films arent good..
Then on top of that, movies like The Innocents get an overseas release only to have Criterion release it months later. It makes deciding on double dipping really difficult since I love Criterion releases. I ponder what would happen if they announce Onibaba , Great Expectations or The Killers which are others that I own overseas imports of..

The Innocents wasn't months later, it was about a month and 4 years. Also, the supplements, IMHO, are better on the BFI release than on the Criterion. The transfer might be slightly better, but I'm not going to double dip on it.

I may double dip on IAMMMMW, simply because of the Roadshow version, and the fact the initial release was cheap. I initially thought about FMF, but decided against it as it's not worth buying it for a 3rd time (DVD, which was traded in for the initial Fox BD when it was on for 5 bucks).

Glad to see The Soft Skin announced but Honestly CC should have worked out a deal to release a FT box set or two with his films. milking title to title like that sends me ready to import the UK editions.
I'm waiting for Criterion's Antoine Doinel box, but yeah, I pretty much figured (and hoped) that Criterion would be dribbling the rest out one by one for quite some time when I pre-ordered the UK set. (And phew, glad I was right. I hope it shows up minty fresh.)

Hopefully Criterion will announce the Kiarostami boxset soon.

Easily Criterion's least impressive announcement in a while though.

The Cries and Whispers cover definitely relates to the film. In fact, it's really an in-your-face cover, nothing is subtle about it.

March still looks really, really strong. I'm interested in everything announced!

A bit of a disappointing month for my tastes, as I'm not really into documentaries. I'm definitely in on The Soft Skin. Ride the Pink Horse is a film I had never heard of prior to the newsletter clue last month, but being an admirer of film noir I'm curious about it.

I didnt realize the Innocents had been out that long - I bought it months before Criterion announced - it was just something I had discovered earlier this year. I just found out that Bubba Ho Top had some blu ray releases overseas today as well, so I bought one, watch that getting announced by Scream Factory or Kino early next year

Probably the same reason why they are skimping on booklets, by the way i am in for Cries and Whispers and The Soft Skin, too bad those covers are awful.
